    Pithy comment tho it is, anyone with any experience with the military system will tell you that while the warfighter kicks ass, there is TREMENDOUS waste in the military both from the military and civilian expenditures. So...no...government programs dont necessarily 'work quite well'

    And short of making our country less secure or putting servicemen into the unemployment line, in the past I've detailed out many areas of military waste and inefficiency - but you will NEVER see them making a dip in all those many ways, ever.

    I agree...because BOTH parties have their sacred cows. Which is why the taxpayer always ends up paying an ever growing federal budget, monthly deficits, and a massive debt.

    Yep, it also centers around the fact that the government would have to actually analyze and determine where things are ineffective - and make it happen. .. sure, a lot of changes to regulations and so on. Heck - they could just stick TO the rules and save us money that way.
