He's probably never done anything for his own community other than talk about how it was much better before us big bad libruls came around and their poverty dropped from 40%-60% to 15%.

I've found it far more useful to go through periods where I have a media blackout; that is, I don't read the news, go online, or even come to places like DP. There is just too much spin and people really need to start tuning it out and grounding themselves in reality again. The media in some ways is just one big distraction and it is preventing people from realizing what is important in their immediate communities.

Sometimes I wonder if the media doesn't purposely create conflict and controversy where there is really none. You know, to keep themselves in business.

What about everytime an American soldier commits a crime? That person is never taken as an individual; rather the entire American armed forces is indicted, because of that soldier's crime.

Republicans are never, ever lumped into one racist pile. Right?

I do everything I can to rid my people of the criminals that give us a bad name.

You'll never see me, sit back, making excuses, or apologies for blacks that break the law.

Why do black folks make up 34% of the welfare rolls and only 12% of the population? Appears to me that we only traded one form of slavery, for another.

I wouldn't blame you if you did. I would blame you if you didn't try to rise above it and became a criminal, a life-long welfare recipient or a deadbeat dad. In the same way I don't blame Muslims who try to explain the problems with their extremists, but I do blame those who chose to become terrorists.

I've done more than just rise above it. I'm very vocal in my criticisms of the Black Community. I'm usually called various names, for my trouble, like: Uncle Tom, racist, etc. Hatuey even accused me of, "serving my white masters", not too long ago.

Too bad you don't know me outside this internet discussion forum. You would see how I am quick to tell a black man to stop acting like a nigger.

Good for you. There are undeniably many problems still in the US with the African-American community. I have no doubt that there are countless others like you who speak out about it in some not very PC ways. Do they ever make the news, though? My guess is they get as little airtime as the countless Muslims who speak out against terror and the hijacking of their religion for murdering purposes.

Common-sense and truth are boring, you see. The media doesn't want to report any of it. And honestly, if they did, who would watch? It's a lot more fun to watch a couple of Palestinians dancing in the streets at the thought of American deaths and to tell ourselves that they represent all Muslims. Or to watch a documentary on how many black men are in prison and to deduce from it that they're all criminals.

Feh, what a world.

No, but we do see them raping children, blowing up abortion clinics, intercreedal violence (i.e., protties versus catholics) and picketing the funerals of military KIAs.

So, in other words, to borrow a tactic from you:

"The religion of Jesus been responsible for child abuse, bombings, misogyny, and an all around hatred people of color and women."

See how fun it is to play these kinds of games?

The reasons for all this are multi-faceted and anything but simple. I don't know about you, but when I see a problem that needs fixing I want to know why that problem is there in the first place. The first step to even begining to solve a problem with any chance of a successful outcome it to understand it inside and out. Simplistic, knee-jerk, surface skimming analysis doesn't do it for me.

This, again, is more complicated than you both make it sound. Muslims are, have been and will continue to be the first victims of Islamic terrorism. Western deaths don't even begin to compare to the number of Muslims killed by radicals in most of the Muslim world. Wondering why they haven't eradicated these criminals from their midst is akin to wondering why the Mafia is still fully operational in many parts of Italy, or why inner-city gangs still control and terrorize certain neighborhoods. Nobody wants them around, obviously. So you tell me, why is it so hard to get rid of them?

I don't see the "courageous" ones or the un-PC making the problem any better. Maybe it's time to realize that terrorism is a complex problem that isn't easy to fight. It doesn't matter how much you bomb them or avoid bombing them, how much you speak out against it or try the PC aproach, they will keep using terror anyway. Until the day they realize that it doesn't get them what they want and they get tired of fighting for nothing.

It depends. Those sorts of protests bring out the worst elements and usually turn violent. Arrests often ensue. If it's done peacefully for a change, I don't see why there would be a problem. :shrug:

And burning "witches" and "demon possessed" children in Africa, setting mosques on fire (often in retaliation, but still...), passing laws to commit genocide on homosexuals, actively working to prevent condom use, effectively condemning thousands to contract HIV. YOu want to see the ugly face of Christianity? Just take a look at Africa.
