I've seen or heard several interviews with these people, and they just amaze me.

It is all "God hates..." "God hates..." "God hates..."

Apparently they've never read the part that says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth shall not perish but have everlasting life." Neither have they read "Love thy neighbor as thy self", or any of hundreds of other commandments for love and compassion.

I wish they'd drop "baptist" from their name, it is an embarassment. They are a cult. They aren't truly even a Christian organization, IMO, as they have decided to ignore half the Gospel.
 
Why can't these people just leave everybody alone? Whatever happened to the Golden Rule??? :(

They are barbaric animals. The lowest of refuse does things like this. They need to put their politics aside and let the family lay Mrs. Edwards to rest in peace. Stuff like this enrages me. They are the little **** stains on society. If I was near where the funeral was going to take place I would counter protest them and try to drive them away from the site. Barbaric little mouth foaming bastards.

Fred Phelps is wicked. He used to be one of satan's pubic hairs growing from his scrotum. Said pubic hair fell out and escaped hell and because Fred Phelps.

The man calls himself a "preacher" and leads westboro church in Kansas. They protest at the funerals of fallen soldiers and believe America is a wicked nation because we don't put homosexuals to death. He says he is a Christian but ignores the Bible and abuses faith to rationalize his own hatred. I believe there is a special place reserved on satan's scrotum in hell for when Felps finally dies and returns to the pubes from whence he spawned.

mrs edwards' husband was once extremely significant

both of these men have horribly wronged mrs edwards, one from a distance, the other from within, one a non entity, the other a one time standard bearer for his party

Phelps gets a lot of media attention and protests soldiers funerals. He isn't just a nobody, he is infamous for his views and actions.

Mrs. Edwards has suffered enough, she doesn't need these protestors attacking her and her family as she is laid to rest. Do you support what they are doing at her funerals? Are they justified? It doesn't matter how famous Mrs. Edwards or her estranged husband are/was. That doesn't justify protesting her funeral and disturbing her loved ones as they lay her to rest.

I agree. I was brought up Baptist, and now I am seriously thinking about becoming a Methodist. :mrgreen:
