Actually, no I don't have a dog in this particular fight. I am just an outside observer.

I just cheer anything that causes distress to this USA administration.

Why, exactly? How is that a productive viewpoint?

Well, I can say that generalized applauding of anything that causes the U.S government distress is unproductive, in my book.

That would depend on your POV, would it not?

I am only talking about the current administration. They are a bunch of buffoons. We have great relationships with many in the USA government in both parties.

TOJ doesn't go far enough. He limits his wish to the Obama Administration. But there are other people who think the federal govt. has itself become a parasite which kills its host. That being the case, anything that weakens the parasite is a good.

So you're a fan of Assange, then?

Assange is neither friend nor foe. He is a "useful idiot."

America and the Soviet Union became allies during WWII because they shared a common enemy. Neither was a fan of the other.

You have hated Assange from the beginning, so please cease the pretense that you dislike him just because he's using blackmail. You don't like the fact that he released information that makes your government look bad, and you are doubly annoyed that international law can't really get him over this.

I personally hope he releases that 1 gigabyte file. If it reveals corruption in the war then it could end it.

Re: List of facilities 'vital to US security' leaked

I find it fairly fascinating that so many do not see the bigger picture. Assange is attacking the US (mostly) using brand new warfare techniques. This just at a time when the US has more financial weaknesses than it may ever have had in it's history. Now teams of hackers are attacking Visa, Mastercard, paypal, Amazon, among other targets in the midst of a commercially important time.

Next we will see securities and commodity traders begin shorting US currency and financial interests like never before. Watch.

Bottom line... Several events have set off a chain reaction in our markets which has created many weaknesses, and now the wolves have smelled blood and the folks who do not like the benign hegemony of the US are beginning to attack us.

We need clear leadership and a clear plan to withdraw, regroups, heal and then reassert our dominance in the world if it isn't already too late.

I don't see that leadership here, or on any horizon.

Still the bigger picture isn't any of that. It is what happens AFTER the US is deeply wounded. And those are going to be some dark days my new friends at DP... dark days indeed.
