I bet he is one of those nuts who thinks you should be able to marry who or what ever you want as long as you love them.

Australian Guy Marries His Dog - He assures wedding guests 'it's not sexual'

Arguably even weirder than the woman who married herself or the man who married his pillow: An Australian man has married his dog. Joseph Guiso wed Honey, a 5-year-old labrador, in Toowoomba this week, the Chronicle reports. Thirty friends and family members attended, and listened to vows (presumably only delivered by Guiso) including, "You’re my best friend and you make every part of my day better."

I thought the first interspecies marriage there wouldve been a sheep. Wait no, that NZ.

And it hurts exactly who?

I cant say I really understand his mentality nor do I expect I'll be asking him for wedding tips, but I dont really see why I'm supposed to get all bent out of shape in condemnation about this.

Well for one a dog cant give legal consent or sign a contract

This dog was only 5 years old when the guy married it! Doesn't that make this guy a pedophile? Or does the law count dog-years instead of chronological years?

Oh I get it, obviously this guy marrying his dog is exactly the same as people arguing that consensual agreements between two individuals of sound mind and body should not be discriminated against because of religious beliefs. Obviously they are the same thing.

The dog isn't really giving up anything, though. In practical terms, the dog's life will not change in the slightest due to being married. I'm quite sure that dogs cannot inherit property, so that's a non-issue, and marriage does not imply sex, so bestiality isn't a problem here. I think wedded partner is a decent upgrade from property.

Dogs can inherit property. They can even inherit property in America.

5 People Married to Inanimate Objects

(Newser) – Think Lee Jin-gyu, who recently married his pillow, was the first to say “I do” to an inanimate object? Think again. The Frisky reveals the stories of four more:

* Erika La Tour Eiffel: As you might be able to guess from her new last name, this former US Air Force soldier wedded the Eiffel Tower—at a ceremony attended by friends—in 2007. Previous relationships include an archery bow named Lance, and a sword.

* Eija-Riitta Eklöf Berliner-Mauer: She gave the phenomenon of falling in love with inanimate objects a name: Objectum Sexual. Her spouse? The Berlin Wall.
* Miss Wolfe: This Pennsylvania woman says she’s attracted, “sexually and mentally,” to a roller coaster called 1001 Nachts that she’s ridden more than 3,000 times. She even carries around—wait for it—spare nuts and bolts from the ride.
