He maintains that there will be a significant difference in outcomes (ie: he acts like he thinks he can do something productive in a second term). In reality the same thing will happen that's happened this term, ie: nothing. Sure he might act as if he's throwing up a fight before the same bills get passed, but the difference in outcome is minute, and any illusion of difference that is established won't come into effect until well into the decade, at which point either an Obama led government will cave in and change policy (as intended), or a Republican led government will outright repeal it.

Now a different set of politicians will pass the same agenda, but without the 6 months of fake dispute that Obama usually throws up. Either way, the outcome is essentially the same. His watered-down-to-the-point-of-being-a-gift-to-corporate-America-which-will-soon-be-repealed-regardless healthcare has been most effective in setting back the cause of a substantive bill a few decades.

I wonder if McCain knows his wife and kid did this:

"We’re going to close the unproductive tax loopholes that allow some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share. In theory, some of those loopholes were understandable, but in practice they sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying ten percent of his salary, and that’s crazy." -Reagan

I don't see how this can compete with the millions of new customers given to the insurance companies, nor the effect of putting back any form of legislation that addresses the problem a few decades.

This is another one of those threads that I want to see Republicans on here give their 2 cents and they don't.
