    Congress Approves Child Nutrition Bill

WASHINGTON Congress gave final approval on Thursday to a child nutrition bill that expands the school lunch program and sets new standards to improve the quality of school meals, with more fruits and vegetables.

Michelle Obama lobbied for the bill as a way to combat obesity and hunger. About half of the $4.5 billion cost is financed by a cut in food stamps starting in several years.
A compromise was reached by both sides. Republicans voted for the bill, after it was changed to include a cut in food stamps.

Hold on! Only half? Sooooo, our Republicans who were sent to Washington to stop spending money aren't really going to? Who were going to make sure we could pay for any new spending aren't really going to? What a disappointment.

Remember a week ago when people were saying Michelle Obama's plan wouldn't have any political results...

Michelle Obama lobbied for the bill as a way to combat obesity and hunger.
    Yeah, take that.
