I'm NOT a fan of creating an ever expanding voting bloc of crippled and dependent pets. Im certainly not a fan of creating that mass of crippled dependent pets, throwing the occasional crumb at them and then pretending you actually give a **** about them. So...go wherever you like with that...

    Indeed.

I think it is disgusting that liberals believe they can take individuals that grow up in deficit situations, slap a sticker on them, throw pills at them, and then be done with them. I can point to quite literally THOUSANDS of able bodied individuals in their 20's who's only problem is that society has said...oh...poor baby...you cant take care of yourself. So lets put you on government assistance. We'll see you once a month for your prescription refills. No help...because after all...they cant be helped...you see...its not their fault...

Mind you...theres a reason why they end in ERs and psych units several times a year from overdose attempts. But...hey...dont worry...you are 'helping' them by keeping them dependent.

free people??? they are free to be as irresponsible as they want and we are free to pay for it. nice.....
Would you support the alternative, which would likely lead to an infringment on your right to be stupid and irresponsible sooner or later?

    I doubt seriously you would.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

I would and do support it. I have no problem at all with the govt infringing on my right to be stupid. they already do it with speed limits, firearm restrictions, age limits on alcohol and tobacco, bans on narcotics, drunk driving laws, etc. etc. etc.
The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.

So, now we can move to what you eat. What you wear. Reproductive rights are far more personal than speed limits. And being stupid and irresponsible is not limited to the small list you have above.

That's actually more a misreading on your part than anything else. And you misread more than one thing. Throwing people away isn't limited to either liberasl or republicans. Too many people do that, period. And no serious person here suggests that you don't also help people learn and educate and try to change mindsets, something easier said than done. Making things too simplistic is often quite equal to lying.

but, of course ,that will never fly. can't infringe on their rights to be irresponsible.
I'm still thinking on it, but no way can you use blackmail to get them to comply.
However, I can't see a lot wrong if they were offered the option at no cost to them and no pressure. That goes for birth control too.

and misuse of reproductive rights are far more dangerous to society than violating a speed limit.

IMHO, your "reproductive rights" should end when they start to affect someone other than yourself and your kids

Same can be said about overeating and smoking. The cost in terms of health dollars effect everyone, and even more than the cost of these reproductive rights. You're being very selective here.
