Arson at Oregon Bomb Plot Suspect's Mosque

This is in a way a bit of a shock because Oregon is a bastion of extremely left wing Liberalism and they have since Obama came along shown themselves to be not really inclined to retaliate against Anti-Americans.

So we can rule Liberals out as having had anything to do with this.

Burning down a Mosque is no way to go about trying to deter these Radical Islamic Cultists from continuing to try to kill innocent American men, women and children.

I do believe that once any one of these Mosques is found to harbor or produce or fail to publicly condemn any Terrorists at all there needs to be a determination that it is indeed a Cult and not a religion and anyone who is involved should be deported if they are here on a visa, and if they have become naturalized citizens, their citizenship should be revoked and then be deported, if they were born here then they get jail time and it all needs to be done under a law that does not allow some Liberal activist Judge to interfere at any level.

Is this harsh? You damn betcha. This is a Global war not some overseas contingency project or domestic namby pamby BS as the Apologist in Chief wants it called.

Arson at Oregon Bomb Plot Suspect's Mosque - CBS News

Anger over a Somali-born teen's failed plan to blow up a van full of explosives during Portland's Christmas tree lighting ceremony erupted in arson on Sunday when a fire damaged an Islamic center frequented by the suspect, authorities said.

Police don't know who started the blaze or exactly why, but they believe the Islamic center in Corvallis was targeted because terror suspect Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, occasionally worshipped there.

Yosof Wanly, the imam at the Salman Alfarisi Islamic Center, said he was advised by friends to take his family out of their home because of the potential threat of hate crime, and members decried the alleged arson attack. No one was injured, and the fire was contained to one room.

I condone the act of arson, but am not surprised. Wonder if members of the Center condembed the actions of MOM?

I don't want the government making a determination that a particular religious organization, order or congregation is a "cult." I especially don't want such a determination to be made based on said group's silence on the subject of violence. Nobody should have to speak out against violence in order to avoid criminal or civil sanctions -- the assumption should be that any good and decent person does not approve of such things until their words or actions prove otherwise.

If any of the membership is involved in criminal activities, or is failing to report criminal activities to the authorities, or is aiding and abetting others who are involved in breaking the law, then by all means punish them the same way you'd publish anybody else.

As for stripping someone of their citizenship, where the hell are you going to send them? Someplace where they don't speak the language, understand the culture, and won't be welcomed by the governing authorities? How long until they get punted back here?

We imprison rapists, armed robbers, murderers and serial killers -- we don't strip them of their citizenship and ship them elsewhere because nobody would want them and because dealing with them is our responsibility as a society.
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

You may have a point about the penalizing the Cults for not speaking out against terrorists that come from their Cult. But they should at the very least be closely monitored and never trusted.

Now let's look at your other points.

I don't want the government making a determination that a particular religious organization order or congregation is a "cult."
The Federal Governments does this all the time and thank God they do.

Warren Jeffs and the FLDS (CULT) in Colorado City, Arizona rapes girls as young as 12 and 13 and forces them into the Polygamist life style, and you want that to be allowed to go unchallenged because they claim to be a religion?

I think not because I don't believe you're a sicko which is what you have to be to think it's okay.

As for stripping someone of their citizenship, where the hell are you going to send them?
This is easy send them back where they came from. They will remember their home language, as to striping citizenship it's done for less serious crimes regularly, and deportation is cheaper than prison.

Besides illegal aliens come here all the time and don't speak a word of English and Liberals welcome and pamper them.

If you want to come to this Country and enjoy the freedoms we have you have to obey the laws not just the ones you like and if your Cult goes against our laws you need to know there is a price to pay.

I have no compassion or warm feeling for anyone who operates a CULT. I went to school with woman who was trapped in a CULT with no way out for over 20 years and her life was ruined because of it. She was brainwashed into believing it was Religion.

Radical Islam is a cult, as are many So-called Religions of the west such as the FLDS, many have no idea how to spot one.

Religions respect the individual's autonomy. Cults enforce compliance.

Religions try to help individuals meet their spiritual needs. Cults exploit spiritual needs.

Religions tolerate and even encourage questions and independent, critical thinking. Cults discourage questions and independent critical thinking.

Religions encourage psycho-spiritual integration. Cults "split" members into the "good cult self" and the "bad old self.”

Conversion to religions involves an unfolding of internal processes central to a person's identity. Cultic conversion involves an unaware surrender to external forces that care little for the person's identity.

Religions view money as a means, subject to ethical restraints, toward achieving noble ends. Cults view money as an end or as a means toward achieving power or the selfish goals of the leader.

Religions view sex between clergy and the faithful as unethical.
Cults frequently subject members to the sexual appetites of the leaders.

Religions respond to critics respectfully. Cults frequently intimidate critics with physical or legal threats.

Religions cherish the family. Cults view the family as an enemy.

Religions encourage a person to think carefully before making a commitment to join. Cults encourage quick decisions with little information.

Anything that can be used as a deterrent to CULTs and terroristism that is within Constitutional law if fair game and anyone who comes up with politically nonsense should be slapped down metaphorically of course.
