EU rescue costs start to threaten Germany itself

Credit default swaps (CDS) measuring risk on German, French and Dutch bonds have surged over recent days..

"Germany cannot keep paying for bail-outs without going bankrupt itself," said Professor Wilhelm Hankel, of Frankfurt University. "This is frightening people...

The refrain was picked up this week by German finance minister Wolfgang Schäuble. "We're not swimming in money, we're drowning in debts,"...

Americans beware... for we are unfortunately not much different. We should have been leading, following our Constitution, embracing limited government, but instead we have been infected with financial HIV from our Eurosocialist party... the SAPs (Socialists of Amerika Party... aka Dems).

    Wait, what?

What did the greed of our financial movers and shakers have to do with Europe?
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

He's probably referring to the almost $14 trillion of American debt.

Since when was our debt their fault?

A greedy, overbearing, liberty thieving, red tape machine of a government (Eurosocialism) comes with consequences.

Europe didn't cause our financial problems. Greedy financiers who took risks with other people's money and then looked to the government for salvation did that.

Doh... "Connect-the-Dots"... and try reading the original post... a little more closely.

You folks claim to be so nuanced, yet when someone draws a parallel as plain as daylight, you stick your heads in the sand, or are too thick to understand. I don't know which is worse.

Now, let me spell it out for you as simply as I can:

The government has created a series of Ponzi schemes that are ticking time bombs, they have been taxing and spending on "programs" like drunks, they have created all manner of red-tape from departments that are outside the electorates control, they have forced banks to make bajillions in bad loans. These busy bodies have infected our country with financial and regulatory HIV.

Tell me T.E.D., can you point me to a Ponzi scheme that worked for all... over the long haul... for all participants?

    We are Greece in waiting.

You hit that one out of the park. The whole system is awash in bad planning bad debt and now bad ideas that seem to get worse with every passing day.

We've heard Biden claim we can spend our way out of trouble and Obama started out thinking we could tax our way out while Pelosi perhaps the dumbest of the lot if it's not three way tie claimed the unemployment checks create jobs.

The Liberal/Socialists here and in Europe have been wrong at every turn and can't seem to learn a damn thing from past mistakes.

Over taxing, over spending, over regulation mixed with poor over-site of good regulations or piss poor ideas like Housing and Community Development Act made great jumping off place for trouble.

And don't forget all the shared corruption on both sides and down the middle of the isle in league with wall street crooks and here we are.

These are few of the things The Tea Party is talking about, and that is what Congress as a whole had better be listening to.

    .

So how do you blame only the Dems when you post a graph showing this rise in federal spending going all the way back to just after WW2?
