You are telling me that arresting people for burning korans and making cartoons of Mohamed is not akin to jailing someone for blasphemy
She, presumably, got arrested for lighting something on fire on school grounds.
Who got arrested for "making cartoons of Mohamed"?
I think you might have invented both of the above events.
Threats are not considered hate speech.
Hate speech - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Laws concerning hate speech outside of obscenity, defamation and incitement to riot are illegal in the United States.[33][34][35] The United States federal government and state governments are broadly forbidden by the First Amendment of the Constitution from restricting speech.[36] Even in cases where speech encourages illegal violence, instances of incitement qualify as criminal only if the threat of violence is imminent.[37] This strict standard prevents prosecution of many cases of incitement, including prosecution of those advocating violent opposition to the government, and those exhorting violence against racial, ethnic, or gender minorities
Don't expect others to read your references if you do not. I mean, c'mon, it references threats explicitly in, like, the third sentence! wth
It's nice that you proved yourself wrong, and all, but let's not furthur pretend it did not happen.
Bizarre.
As I wrote before, US hate speech laws are concerned with the imminent threat of violence against a group (I suppose person too). They have nothing to do with race, ethnicity, gender nor religion.
10 e-bucks says you don't understand hate crime legislation either.
