If she burned books at school then that would call for suspension and possibly charged with arson and the destruction of school property assuming the Koran belonged to the school.

Would a student be arrested for wearing a KKK or nazi uniform in school? Maybe in eurotrash countries that do not value free speech, but not here in the US.
YES What do you think? Are you honestly that partisan, do you honestly believe police would break into someone's home to arrest them for this?

What do you mean "if" she was at school the news article clearly says she was at school, there is no if.

Yes here in the US someone could be arrested, personally if I was a school principal I would not arrest a student for wearing a nazi or KKK uniform, or for burning a Koran. I would have simply sent them home, so I think the principal overreacted. HOWEVER its impossible to believe that any behavior like this is normally tolerated on school campuses.

And, right after that, you should be fired.

Actually, if someone was familiar with the movie Lethal Weapon 2, then they would know that it was a bad word for blacks. The white South Africans in that movie used it a couple of times towards Murtaugh (Danny Glover's character).

Now, I personally don't know what the original usage of the word was intended for in this thread, but it really isn't something to fight over. And perfectly reasonable for someone not to know that it has been used as a racist word before.

It's an idea. And the only way to destroy an idea is to destroy the people who believe in it. Burning books is the behavior of subhumans and degenerates, and whether it is "protected speech" or not, civilized society should at the very least view it with some distaste.

The British arrest people for hate speech(at least hate speech against gays and muslims). What part do you not get about that? So it would have not matter if the girl burned the Koran at school or in the privacy of her own home.

Yes here in the US someone could be arrested, personally if I was a school principal I would not arrest a student for wearing a nazi or KKK uniform, or for burning a Koran.
Here in the US someone would not have been arrested for wearing a kkk or nazi uniform to school. The US does not have hate speech laws. So the only thing she could have been arrested for is destruction of school property assuming the Koron belonged to the school and I am sure they could have had her arrested for lighting something on fire at school.

I would have simply sent them home, so I think the principal overreacted.
She still would have been arrested for burning a Koran.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

She was burning a book, not books, and the Koran is not on any endangered list. It was a symbolic gesture, nothing more.
