DeLay convicted of money laundering charges

I think you mean probation. And, personally I don't favor incarceration for non-violent offenders.

What ever, as long as he is out and about and has to report what he did, every month to a parole officer, preferably in Austin.

Generally, I think you have a point. However, a breach of the public trust is a very serious violation of the law and should be treated with the full weight of the law in sentencing.

Re: Texas jury convicts Tom DeLay on money laundering charges

It does seem that facts get in the way of your "beliefs" so tell me where I am wrong. Didn't TX just elect 20 more GOP Legislators in this last election? Didn't Obama lose the state by over a million votes? How did DeLay affect this election or the 2008 elections?

Seems to me you are the one that has trouble with "facts" and is in denial. He was convicted by a jury. Get ****ing over it! And we keep hearing about some ****ing elections that has nothing to do with his conviction.

One more time:

zzz... Time to move on and let Conservative go whine in a corner. He's apparently balling so resonately he can't hear anyone.

Feel better now? Watch for the appeal and the overturning of that conviction. Bet we don't see much of you then.

Wishful thinking....
even if it happens, he will always be guilty of not having an ounce of respect for law.
Every politician who breaches the public trust should be exiled, to Texas.:2razz:
Clearly GOP Texans love their crooked politicians....

To be honest, tho, I doubt Texans can ever achieve the level of Chicago crookedness...

Maybe Tom can share a cell with a couple of Illinois Governors.

Rod should have his own private cell, with visitation rights by all the other prisoners....

Re: Texas jury convicts Tom DeLay on money laundering charges

I'm glad he got convicted, and I wished d Rangle had gotten a little more than a sanction thought. However, from what I understand is that this sanction, basically ruins the mans political career. However I'm in no way shape or form defending what Rangle did I wished he got more than just ruined career.

I don't know-with certain elements and voting blocks being "oppressed by da man" is a badge of honor. Look at Marion SNORT Barry of DC.

Hey TD.Is this something that is taught in law school when you lose a case?

("This is a terrible miscarriage of justice," said Dick DeGuerin, DeLay's lead attorney. "... This will never stand up on appeal." )

It seems that every time a shyster looses a case, be it OJ, or whoever, its almost the same words.

He's 80. He has an excuse to retire. If he were 30, that might mean a hill-a-beans.

But, in this case, what Delay did wasn't illegal, until after he did it. Isn't that right?

you do understand that shyster is not the correct term to apply to a major league defense attorney. John Edwards on the other hand would fit that description

he most likely would have lost even worse and the appellate record would be not as helpful
