Is Austin not part of Texas?

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

arrogance appears to be Delay's most obvious flaw so maybe he couldn't believe he would be convicted on what may be an ex post facto application of the law. I have seen lots of criminal appeals-lets wait and see what happens

That is very true but we have a legal system that allows for appeals and as stated there are many attorneys in this city that believe the verdict will be overturned. Where will you be then?

Since when have liberals believed in the will of the people? Whenever the will of the people is put to a vote and that vote doesn't turn out the way the liberal elite or minority believes they find some activist judge to overturn that majority vote. Apparently the will of the people only matters on certain issues.

He indeed does display arrogance which probably did play a role here. Amazing that every night on local TV here a couple of attorneys gave their analysis of the day's court proceedings and they kep stating that the DA didn't make their case that day and that the end of the trial they predicted acquital. Tom DeLay didn't testify because the Defense thought they had won the case and didn't need to put him on the stand. The shock was quite evident when the verdict was read, by most attorneys here.

I have no problem with either going to jail. You keep trying to make a big deal out of something that totally isn't. I stated, and think that corruption should be punished, no matter who did it, and have said this repeatedly, no matter who it was, or what party they belong to. I also don't play the finger pointing game to try and hide liberal corruption that you do to hide conservative corruption.

    Stop misrepresenting what I think.

I would prefer that the govt stay out of it, but when the wealth of "individuals" AND corporations is sitting stagnant in low or non-producing savings accounts, the govt feels the need to use taxpayer funds to "stimulate".

The will of the people plays well, until it is your ox being gored...then you want the supreme court to override the will of the people.
And rightfully so, else we would be stuck in the past somewhere with Jim Crow laws and women denied the vote....

Thus the Constitution was amended to give women the right to vote and that is exactly what is going to happen with pet projects of liberals like gay marriage. These liberals are going to get the majority in this country to act and liberals aren't going to like the outcome.

Insurrection? Revolution? Death camps for the liberals?
or will we just have a new law that says Republicans only pay less taxes? If that won't increase your membership, nothing will...

Getting way off topic here but to answer your question, I really don't care what you pay in taxes or how much you make. I am funny like that and promote your right to earn as much as you can and then letting you spend that money the way you see fit.
