North Korea reportedly fires at South

And some people need to understand that things do change

China is no where near the same country it was in 1970. SK is far more important a country to China now then NK is

It wont allow SK to overwhelm NK as its security intesests will be comprised

Not that SK could overwhelm NK without suffering severe loss`s and seeing Seoul hit by thousands of artillery shells,

The Nazi's aren't around anymore. You fail.

Really?

Yay! Finally we are getting somewhere! Woo Hoo! That's what I've been trying to say until you got started acting like a jerk.

But, you're failing to see the big picture.

Cool, does that mean I get to direct you back on topic?

Since you got your ass handed to you in the debate, sire, it's up to you, bro.

That's the downside to all out war. However I'm thinking there may be a contingency plan in place that could hit NK so hard and so fast and so devistatingly it may preclude that with some luck. But Seoul is so close to the DMZ it would be hard to pull off. It would have to be a surprise attack of massive force. Stealth bombers would be the way to go. Not sure if we would bring them in theater though, and I know SK doesn't have any of their own.

Has anyone ever told you your posts are a waste of bandwidth? What are you a teenager?

Yeah, right! Communist China is going to take sides with Democratic South Korea, against Communist North Korea?

Whatever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why, sure they have. It's usually some stupid asshole that has nothing else to say and bases his argument on revised historical bull****.

I'm no liberal. Just pointing out the double standard.

This is nothing new. Same during Bush 2. I seem to remember Russian invading Georgia while Cheney squawked and Bush did nothing. I also recall several incidents with NK during Bush 2 with nothing that smacks of the macho you assume. Your lack of memory is telling. Revisionist history actually.

Not so. Only right wingers hoping the world laughs. Most of the peace loving world is relieved Bush the cowboy is gone. I also can recall some real laughing by the world when Dumbya was in office. I cringed whenever he opened his mouth. I was embarassed to have him as my president.

There was even laughter at his expense when he was in the room, and on international TV:

YouTube - Putin shreds Bush

If China acts against South Korea, they are acting against the U.S. If they fight the U.S., we can say screw you, and f**k the money we owe them. Just like that, they'll have defeated their economic policy for the last few decades.

SK would have 1 hr before seeing shells and missiles hitting Seoul, the center of the government, economy of South Korea.

Not to mention a possibility of a nuclear weapon being used by the NK if things are truely going bad for them.

SK will talk a big bluster, then do some shelling of its own perhaps a few airstrikes, then stop. It has to cause more damage then what NK caused, but it cant directly threaten an actual war, as SK has far more to lose then NK

Obviously they're not going to start any way. the DPRK will start it, and as such, Seoul's going to get messed up real bad. But North Korea won't exist once the dust settles. Hell, it'll be a race to see who can take their land first; my bets on China. They've got a crap load of guys on the border, and the South Koreans/Americans are going to be fighting a defensive war for a short time, while China goes in for the kill.

Really?

Yea, Really

If it makes you feel better at the end of the day, sure, whatever.

What is the full official name of North Korea

Democratic People's Republic of Korea

Why that makes them a democratic state doesnt it, their name says so

China is no longer a communist nation, not by a long shot. It is authoritarian, undemocratic yes, but communist no.

True, unless China thinks it can come out as the supreme victor, at the end of the war and can take all the marbles.

You can play semantics all you want, but Democratic is not the word to describe NoKo.

If you think China is no longer Communist, then you have alotta growing up to do.

Just for ****s and giggles, tell us, when was the last time that China, or NoKo had open and free elections. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, if they can take out the U.S.A. (I'd like to see that happen without MAD), South Korea, Japan, and maybe NATO too. If they came down with the DPRK, WWIII is going to start, and everyone loses.

What are you basing that opinion on? History tells us that the Chi-coms can't put enough combat divisions into the peninsula, to do any real good.

I think this is a Chinese problem and it is up to them.

They threw more than a million men at us during the Korean War, and we killed a million of them because we had technology on our side. If they go down on the North Koreans, they'll have numbers, and technology.

If a war starts, the DPRK is going to surge into South Korea. We'll massacre them, but until the first waves of them die, we're in our defensive positions waiting for a chance to counterattack, especially since they'll be the ones most likely throwing the first blows.

Of course, our Air Force will be ripping them to shreds, but the air force can't conquer North Korea.

You're thinking like a westerner.

It's not like the U.S.--with our lilly-livered prez--and those dipsticks in NATO have announced from a position of strength. They can't even conjer up a strategy to defeat the Taliban. Why should China be afraid of them coming up with a plan to defeat the Chinese Army? I mean, hell, our current president will be wanting to read Chi-com soldiers their Miranda rights on the battlefield.

I have been to China recently

Shanghai and a mid size city in northern China. The place had people doing all the capitalistic things you see in the US or Canada, from street vendors, expensive stores, mass`s of various auto dealerships, privately owned bus companies. It is no more communist nation then the US is.

Just for ****s and giggles

Capitalism does not equal democracy and democracy does not equal capitalism

You can have a capitalist ECONOMIC system while having a POLITICAL dictatorship

You're sorta getting it. Whatever technology the Chi-coms have, our's is better. We'll be matched up as well as we were during the 1st Korean War--probably better.

It doesn't matter what the politicians think. Once this sort of war breaks out, its in the hands of the generals. We have more than 20,000 troops in South Korea. If even 1 of them dies, every American will be crying to nuke the commies. Further, if the DPRK does declare war, we can't very well say, "oh no thanks maybe some other time." We're going to fight, and they're going to die.

And again, common sense dictates that the Chinese will annex North Korea. To do anything else would be tantamount to national suicide.

Which is why they'll take the North Koreans and go no further. It simply isn't in their interests to face the United States and her allies in a military conflict.

Sure can; it's called, "national socialism". Why does that ring a bell? Oh, wait, I know...do you?

No, not with this administration.
