Well, released today by dirty wikileaks and a traitor in an American embassy.....

Wikileaks cables reveal China 'ready to abandon North Korea'Leaked dispatches show Beijing is frustrated with military actions of 'spoiled child' and increasingly favours reunified Korea

    "Rule out reunification," justabubba?
"Lead to WWIII against China," Ocean City?

Could it be that I have some greater resource to know what is going on? Maybe a crystal ball? Fellas, all I did was apply some book fed knowledge about culture and economy, used some military experience to conclude the likely tactical end, and then applied some good old fashioned common sense. Washington is full of think tanks that do quite the opposite. Critics, called pundits, usually toss out conclusions that are based largely on nothing. And this is why the ignorant lords of negativity have been wrong about everything since 9/11. Their "wisdom" is based on media headlines and assumptions.

In the future, maybe we can take this one more example and appreciate what I'm stating instead of defaulting to "nu-uh." I do not blow smoke up people's asses and I am always with background study. As I stated, China is not willing to damage economic ties to America over North Korea. They are as fed up as we are. And this is one more piece of evidence that substantiates the future call for an American/Chinese world.

Itís not the topic of this thread but we have to find a way to keep our secrets, secret. WHERE ARE THE FRIGGEN LEAKS COMING FROM? Rant over.
The haggardness of poverty is everywhere seen contrasted with the sleekness of wealth, the exhorted labor of some compensating for the idleness of others, wretched hovels by the side of stately colonnades, the rags of indigence blended with the ensigns of opulence; in a word, the most useless profusion in the midst of the most urgent wants.Jean-Baptiste Say

Traitors who breathe free air. Even Amnisty International is fed up with Wikileaks' irresponibility.

You people are naive if you believe that the secrets were leaked against the will of the US government. If the government had wanted to keep it secret, it would have been. The government has repeatedly demonstrated in the past that they can keep **** secret if they really wanted to.

There is nothing that is particularly damaging in the wikileaks for the US (just alot of hot air) and most of it was common sense if you even bother to keep up with current events. It might damage the relations between China and NK even further, though, if NK has reason to believe that China is in bed with the US.

My thinking is the government security is not what it should be. Some hot shot hackers are getting in. My guess though. Could be wrong. I do know China is doing everything possible to glean information in cyber space. Recently 15 percent of all Internet traffic was routed through China.

That said, isn't a lot of this from one individual that was downloading cables and classified information, and Wikileaks has been releasing parts of it as we go?

That's a good point, but I doubt the government is in cahoots with wikileak devils and look forward to apologizing and explaining every released detail to the world. These leaks do involve some traitors even if they are just being like the foolish college kid who releases a virus for kicks.

Unfortunately, some on this thread have demonstrated to have less than stellar common sense. But regardless if it is harmful or not, it should not be happening.

Unlikely. When I worked at MARFORCOM in Virginia I was responsible for message traffic between the White House, NATO, and lower echelon units. The security (physical and network) was brick solid. No thumb drives. No cell phones. etc. Individuals from the inside would have to purposefully get material outside the building to release.

An Army private suspected of leaking classified material, including videos and other documents, has been transferred from Kuwait to a Marine Corps brig in Quantico, Virginia.
Army private transferred to Virginia amid WikiLeaks probe - CNN
This occurred earlier because a stupid Army Private felt that it would cool to get away with it. He was turned in by a friend on the civilian side when he bragged about it. His friend thought what he was doing was dangerous. INFOSEC isn't as strong in a deployed environment and in embassies. This is a major reason why networking sites like Facebook and such have been banned. Sensitive material gets released unwittingly in a Facebook comment. But when secure documents of this kind get released, someone on the inside was being malicious and traitorous.

I heard today he would bring in a disk and pretend he was listening to music while he was actually downloading this stuff. Why isn't there software installed that warns something is being downloaded? I hope heads rolled with his superiors as it sounds like they were really lax. I had an instructor in AF tech school that got court martialed and sent to Ft. Levenworth for allegedly giving answers during an exam. For crying out loud that was just weather school!

It's impractical. Once the information is opened from the network it can be transferred without notice. For this reason, USB ports on Marine Corps machine inside CONUS are shut off to thumb drives. He should not have been allowed to use disks abroad at all on SIPRNET or highly classified machines either. Storage devices that can take information away from the computer is unathorized in most secure situations. His site may have been lazy, in which case his leadership is responsible for his deeds. They would have had to ignore him abusing the machine with music. The rule is that once anything contacts a Secure Machine, it is no longer authorized to touch NIPRNET (Non-secure, Internet, personal PC, and such) machines. This was a soldier who betrayed his leaders and undermined the trust of his fellow soldiers doing their jobs.

That would require someone to monitor a little screen and wait for a blip.

I've read that the pooling and easier access to information was a response adopted after 9/11. Do you know if that's true?
