Oprah Winfrey is eyeing a house in the New York area, The Post has learned.

The TV titan -- whose new network is slated to launch in Los Angeles next year -- quietly slipped into town yesterday for a house-hunting ex pedition along the banks of the Hud son, sources said.

Among the homes on her must-see list: a $68 million manse on the sprawling grounds of the old Frick estate in Alpine, NJ, the sources said.

Oprah's three-car caravan, including two black SUVs and a van, pulled into the ritzy enclave before noon yesterday, a source said.

Oprah Winfrey toured the grounds and grand interior (above) of this mega-manse yesterday in Alpine, NJ.
The billionaire then toured the 30,300-square-foot, English-manor-style mansion, which is part of the lavish "Estates at Alpine."

Didn't Obama, O best friend, say "made enough money"? I guess that doesnt include the liberal elitist.

If O cared so much like all liberals do, why isnt she giving her billions away to those whom havent been played a "FAIR" hand?

How much you want to bet the O is using every tax break Bush gave her.

Funny how liberalism and hypocrisy are never far apart.

You think a 3% increase in her taxes would have prevented her from buying the house?

Maybe it means the 'war on wealth' is bullpucky and you refute yourself? Unless you believe the wealthy are discriminated against by political lean.

Oprah eyeing a $68 million mansion is fine with me considering she actually does do some good. Although her book club selection sucks.

Who cares? Besides I would have thought you could buy the whole state for less than that.

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3% of a billion is alot of money and could pay for countless people on welfare, foodstamps and govt housing in a Obama economy.

I am not the one that claims the rich is evil. I find it funny that Obama is out there beating up the rich every chance he gets yet one of his dearest friends is looking to buy a 68 million home. None of you find that ironic?

Who cares? It's her money. And who the frack cares what Obama thinks? Do you agree with every single thing your friends ever say?

Don't care what she does with her cash, but I do very much care what President Frack thinks. It would have been nice if the electorate had been informed about what Frack thought before the election. But Journolists just couldn't put down their pom-poms.

President Frack was sold to us as a well trained guard dog, but in reality is an untrained puppy. He's crapping up the place, the tenants have recently had his owners evicted for the mess he's made (and in a decisive manner :) ) , a mess future generations will pay the cleanup costs for.

Ignorance comes with costs. In this case big costs.

Wouldn't be the first time the American voter falls for the shiny lights show. Won't be the last. That's what you get when you can't tell the difference between political campaigns and a Vegas show.

But none of that has anything to do with the OP. It's her money and she's free to do what she wants with it no matter what her friends, President or not, have been quoted as saying.

Saying the rich can afford a 3% tax increase on amounts over 250000 isn't the same as saying they are evil. This is a dumb argument right out of the gate. If your argument was a grayhound the race would have been over five minutes ago with your dog still chasing his tail inside the gate.

Why is the OP upset that Oprah is trying to help the housing market recover?

True, but that's what happens when you have Journolists and not journalists.

That is 100% true. I think there is too much interest in what other people have. I find it sickening actually. It's usually used as a class warfare baton, and especially by Frack and his followers.

I do understand the poke in the eye made in the OP though. D'you?

Decisive :)

Not really, not yet. TED was right. All it'll accomplish right now is a standoff.

And standoff is victory for some (two thumbs up). For if it happens, someone is digging their political grave (deeper ). The people spoke, as an election was won decisively.

(Apologies for the thread swerve folks... now back to regular programming.):2wave:
