Ok, dont get all upset and being silly. I just am not convinced you understand basic finances. You said once that banks lend the money they had from savings. That it was a direct relationship. Its not. One peice of evidence that you do not understand basic banking 101. If your going to run a $200million business with thousand employees you should know basic banking practices.

I never said that banks lend money they had from savings, they lend the money they GET from savings and pay you an interest rate for the use of that money. They also get money from the other sources as well but savings is a key source of funds.

It does appear that you don't know how banks work so prove that banks don't lend money they get from individual savings?

No, because you will ignore the fact that banks lend money they get from individuals depositing money into their banks into individual savings accounts. Where do you think that money goes?

So, based upon your statement, if a bank has $100 in savings deposits it has $100 to give out in loans? Right!

You are kidding, right? Banks get money from the Feds and from individuals to lend to other individuals. You appear to not have a clue

My final answer is that banks get their funds from a number of sources and individual bank deposits are a major source of funds for lending.

OK this is getting painful. Just start reseraching the federal reserve (The feds is wrong) its the Fed. The small difference is that Feds implies it is run by the federal government and it is not.

I work closely with the banking industry. I consult on many issues including federal monitary policy, regulations and on occasion pull out a crystal ball. I was heavlily involved in trying to stop the Durbin act and work closely with the SEC, CUNA and several other financial support organizations. I have been very busy in the merger and aquisition of over 300 small banks and credit unions. In fact we are loosing about one credit union a day and have been for a few years. Expect it to continue. I am currently involved in helping medium and small banks prepair for the latest of two rounds of regulations involving the fair credit act in regards to risk based lending and the go green act that will require a reduction in papaer statments. Trust me I understant banks.
