You seem to think because some perceive that things are getting better the facts simply don't support that contention and if the economy is getting better the question is at what cost? This President is the most leftwing President in U.S. history spending more money to grow the govt. than any other President in U.S. history. It is the direction and cost of this economic policy that is turning people off. Most people are smart enough to understand that you cannot spend the kind of money Obama has spent and get the results he has gotten then claim things are better and we have really turned the corner. All that spending did was generate 4 million more unemployed and added 3 trillion to the debt. Wouldn't you have expected less employment today? If not why spend all that money? Now the Democrats want to continue that economic policy, extended unemployment benefits well beyond two years and ignore the will of the people which is "stop the spending."

Tell me what economic results justify what Obama has done in the past two years? You think things are getting better? Where? Why extend unemployment benefits? Why implement Obamacare? Why bailout unions? Tell me what Obama has done that has made anything better? The answer is the reason that he lost in historic proportions on Nov. 2
first of all, yes, its your party, the party whose policies you support, own up to it ....second, i believe i'm spot on, people want recovery, and they want it NOW....sad fact of life is you don't get out of mess in 2yrs when the mess was over 5 years in the making, sorry, you don't. why implement obamacare? because by god this is America, and every citizen deserves basic healthcare, whether they be rich, or poor.

Bailing out unions? good grief , get a damn clue already, i've already explained this to you, you were comfy just letting the economy totally collapse because it would have served your purposes, to have an all republican government, never mind all the people, OTHER THAN THOSE 'UNION' JOBS you like to cry about, who would have been out of work because those companys, members of the 'big three' went belly up. UNION JOBS would not have been the only jobs lost, a fact you can't, don't, don't want to, grasp. If it hurt the democrats, hurt the unions, then apparently everyone else be damned who would have been hurt by the fallout.
extended unemployment benefits? YOU YOURSELF LIKE TO BANG THE DRUM ABOUT HOW MANY 'MILLIONS' OF PEOPLE ARE UNEMPLOYED, but claim that, apparently, all these unemployed people are lazy bums, wanting to live off the government teat, and are all happy servants of the democratic party. so explain something to me....you don't see any need for unemployment benefits for these people? how do you expect them to eat? pay their rent? have gas money to look for a job? what do you expect these people to do? i've read some of your posts that say perhaps they need to move...hey genius, where are they supposed to get the money to move on?

I guess you missed the protesting that went on over every major Obama initiative.

Every Obama initative? Surely you can source your claim?

    Who was doing the protesting?

Yeah, you stick a knife in a pig, and he will squeal...and most of the GOP politicians are obstructionist pigs...
If the GOP had any ideas of their own, when will we hear them? SO far all I hear from them is the undoing of what Obama did, at the same time many of the GOP want us to believe Obama has done nothing, now expain how we have to undo the nothing that Obama did so far...

Yep, it is my party that was in control, and let the pests in their ear, namely liberal demo's deceive them into thinking that the progressive outlook was the way to go.

America has now unmasked the lies associated with that and is in the process of purging those that took that road. This past election was only the start.

Sad fact of life is you don't get out of mess in 2yrs when the mess was over 5 years in the making, sorry, you don't.
You are absolutely correct on this point as a stand alone. However, I would contend that it was far longer than the 5 years of the previous Bush administration that drove this mess. I know it is convenient for you progressives to continue the lie that only paints your ideological opponents as the problem but it is just that, a lie.

Why implement obamacare? Because by god this is America, and every citizen deserves basic healthcare, whether they be rich, or poor.
Yep, it is a shame that after the long "War on Poverty" devised by progressives that they have done little to actually address and solve that problem. But, you are correct in saying proudly 'This is America' and as such, I don't believe that person B is entitled to services paid for by person A simply because they will not work to pay for it themselves.

Come on man, I know for a fact you are much smarter than this tripe. This is simply not how things work. Sure there would have been pain, and when the dust settled speculation of how many would have been out of work is debatable, what isn't debatable is the action that would have been undertaken by those bailed out, which is a BK. Reorganization, and continued business. Would some have lost? yes. But what are we doing now except for putting off the inevitable at a higher price?

Necessity is the mother of invention. My guess, as well as studies on the subject shows that when you start saying that the gravy train is done, then people magically go find work. Imagine that? 2 plus years isn't unemployment anymore, it is welfare.

It's not that he has done nothing, it is just that what he HAS done is harmful.

tripe? hardly, as conservative's posistions would have led to just that. letting the 'dust' settle? how many millions of people would you/ are you willing to see out of work, j? really how many? and for what? to try and pin it on the dems and to destroy the unions? good grief. and please explain how 'magically' these people are all going to find jobs, if, at this moment, there are not enough jobs to go around?

Your guess and what studies? 7 years ago I was 57 and "retired" by my company. A layoff by any other name, etc...
From all my evals on the job, I was an excellent technician and was not only able, but willing to do repairs that others in the shop either could not, or would not. But I found no job. Long story short, I didn't need the job, the wife still had a good job as a teacher, so I just worked part time here and there except summers, when she wasn't working.
A very large number of people are in a similar situation, old and ignored when it comes to getting a job. It isn't their fault....
Not to dismiss your opinions entirely, tho. I know people who suckle from the govt teat and call the funds received their salary. I am related to several of them, siblings in fact.
Don't be using your broad brush on the unemployed, many of them don't want to be.

Why don't you own up to the failure of liberalism like the majority in this country. I am a Conservative and proud of it as it is the only economic policy that makes any sense. Yours sure doesn't. Healthcare insurance is a personal responsibility and not a govt. responsibility. Why did MA implement Universal Healthcare but Ohio didn't? Why is it a bureaucrat in D.C. that you believe can administer healthcare insurance for you in Ohio? If you want healthcare then let Ohio or your community provide it not D.C.

You are an absolute waste of time. Facts mean nothing to you as yo ucontinue to buy the rhetoric you are told. I do feel sorry for people like you. Get off your knees, Obama doesn't deserve the treatment you are giving him.

Many are lazy bums so you tell me how long should the American taxpayer pay for someone to be unemployed? I expect people to go to work and not live off the taxpayers and income producers. Your state is approaching bankruptcy just like others because of the payment of extended unemployment benefits. I really don't think liberals are nearly as smart as you or others seem to believe.

I am sorry to hear that, and really do hope that everything worked out. Regardless of what many think in here just because we barb back and forth, I do not wish any ill on anyone in here.

However, I don't think you are understanding me entirely either. See, I have my own story in this recession concerning my wife, whom in her mid 40s is going back to school for a different career after 20 years as a graphic artist. But we all do what we must. My rub is with those whom aren't even trying to gain employment, or turning down employment because they think they can do better on benefits.

although there are many anecdotal stories out there, we all know in the back of our minds that Obama has failed on this front.

In case you haven't noticed, the govt does not care what you or I expect. You should take your show on the road, perhaps to one of the Tea Party rallies. you might get applauded there, but it won't make a dent in the issue. The result of cutting off unemployment to those who had jobs and lost them due to this recession might just be more crime....
