Re: House GOP blocks bill to extend jobless benefits

Historically, lots of Americans were exempted from paying a federal income tax going back to the 1800's. This is not a modern "problem" but is rather a proud American tradition that is part and parcel with the American dream.

But again I ask the crowd obsessed with this - what is your end game here?

The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

Liberals fall into a couple categories, naive and gullible or closet and open socialists. Which are you?

It isn't 47% of the population, it is 47% of the income earners in this country. The information is available at the IRS.

The obsession here seems to be on the part of those who are more concerned about how much someone else pays in taxes vs. how our existing taxdollars are spent. How is raising the taxes on the 2% going to affect you and your family or even the country for that matter?

So what is the purpose of all this obsession with the 47%? What is it you intend to do about it other than the valuable and socially important task of proselytizing on an internet message board about it? What do you want done about this that would rectify the "problem" in your eyes?

I have no obsession, I don't care how much someone makes or pays in taxes, only the waste, fraud, and abuse of the tax revenue the govt. gets.

Number 2 has two options. Either way, it's a false trichotomy.

Wrong, whether closet or open a liberal is still promoting socialism. You just cannot admit who you really are.

Seems liberals cannot even be honest with themselves so they had to change their name from liberal to progressive when they should have gone right to socialist.
