Mostly, they just bore me.
You wouldn't vote for someone because they are boring?
I'll bet any member here 100 dollar donation in the other persons name that she does not run for president in 2012. She will say she spoke with God and she can help the country more in other ways yaddi yadda. I'm that sure of this. There is 0% chance that she runs for President in 2012.
She's saying she might run for two reasons, assuming she actually means she might run.
1) Speculation is constant news, if she says "I will run" right now it becomes news for a few days and then people forget about it. It losses all the excited which is more useful later during election time than it is now. So as long as its a "maybe" every time she does an interview and the interviewer asks her about her presidential run, she can drop hints or more maybes which will get onto the news. Or better yet maybe stronger hints as election year gets closer.
2) In case something happens between now and 2012 that ruins her reputation, whether among her supporters or other Americans in general, she can back out with less embarrassment and salvage her current role as a speaker/book seller/celebrity, etc than if she came outright and said she'd run.
Of course if she's not really planning to run at all, than its just for media attention.

Not if there's a better choice. We need new blood. These guys have had their chances. Time to give it up.
Hell no I don't want her to run. I want to win and we have tons of great guys who could win no problem.
I will savagely boost someone else's campaign against her - seriously - I'll get so active my face will be on the damned news if she steps into the ring.
I'll knock her out.
So they are boring because they are already politicians?
No. I think all the ones on my list are also politicians.
None of them will bring any new ideas to the table in my opinion.
How many times do dems keep running their losing presidential candidates? Just curious. The republicans seem to do it a lot.
The GOP will hand pick their candidate this time and use corporate donations to take down anyone who opposes. They arn't about to let Sarah Palin win in my opinion.
Both parties have a certain orthodoxy that is created out of the necessity to appeal to moderates and centrists who care less about philosophies and more about results. So, what you complain about is inevitable.
But if she still happens to win the primary would you
a) vote for her?
b) vote for Obama?
c) vote for third party if there is one?
d) stay home?
I'd vote for her and I'd do whatever I could to help her win. I just hope I don't have to make that choice.
Well, from the bottom of my heart. I hope she does well
I have a feeling it would become as good as the 08 election to watch as a bystander
And believe me, I thought the 08 election was a hoot and half with the drama of who will win the Democrat ... Hillary, then maybe Obama but then Hillary again and then the shock arrival of Palin and rise in polls and then the mistake after mistake of Palin. Bravo US, bravo. Next to US elections, ours is like watching paint dry :2razz:

I really hope that she does win. She is the de facto voice of the Republican party and it would be a shame if she was not a big part of the 2012 campaign.
I'm afraid that she won't though. If she runs and for some reason (namely the power players in the GOP are successful in keeping her down)....it will hurt her in the pocketbook as well. She won't be as marketable as she is today.
I agree. Its going to be a major bloodbath between the choice of Wall Street and the GOP establishment versus the tea party darling - be that Palin or somebody else should she decide to not chance it. I would say that if Palin gets in and Romney does well in some early primaries, it could well rip the GOP in two very ragged and bloody factions.
Would suspect the possibility of her actually running is minimal. Not sure why she baited the media with those two interviews this week but would guess "something" was calculated. (the new tv show, a book, whatever...) It did get her a lot of media face time..
And if by chance she did ever toss her hat in the ring, the chances of winning the primary would be remote. Lots of people like her (and a lot seem to hate her) but not too many consider her legit presidential material.....
