Re: Palin: 'I'm engaged in the internal deliberations' for 2012 run

I really hope that she does win. She is the de facto voice of the Republican party and it would be a shame if she was not a big part of the 2012 campaign.

I'm afraid that she won't though. If she runs and for some reason (namely the power players in the GOP are successful in keeping her down)....it will hurt her in the pocketbook as well. She won't be as marketable as she is today.

I think you are right on. Nobody speaks for the GOP better than Sarah Palin...but the corporate elite of the party will try to silence her. Its up to the good people of the GOP to help Sarah defeat the corporatists.

I'd vote for her and I'd do whatever I could to help her win. I just hope I don't have to make that choice.
I'd vote for Obama, and I know my libertarian, Jewish friend would too... He wasn't even paying attention to the election and had no intention of voting until Palin got involved, then he had to vote for Obama. He seems to be really turned off by the evangelic this is our country stuff, because he isn't Christian..

I just think of her in those interviews and think President Palin.. OMG. Nooo. I won't let it happen!

Well, from the bottom of my heart. I hope she does well

I have a feeling it would become as good as the 08 election to watch as a bystander

And believe me, I thought the 08 election was a hoot and half with the drama of who will win the Democrat ... Hillary, then maybe Obama but then Hillary again and then the shock arrival of Palin and rise in polls and then the mistake after mistake of Palin. Bravo US, bravo. Next to US elections, ours is like watching paint dry

    1) Speculation is constant news, if she says "I will run" right now it becomes news for a few days and then people forget about it. It losses all the excited which is more useful later during election time than it is now. So as long as its a "maybe" every time she does an interview and the interviewer asks her about her presidential run, she can drop hints or more maybes which will get onto the news. Or better yet maybe stronger hints as election year gets closer.

    2) In case something happens between now and 2012 that ruins her reputation, whether among her supporters or other Americans in general, she can back out with less embarrassment and salvage her current role as a speaker/book seller/celebrity, etc than if she came outright and said she'd run.

Of course if she's not really planning to run at all, than its just for media attention.
That, and if she says she WILL run, she has to give up her Fox News contract.

I agree. Its going to be a major bloodbath between the choice of Wall Street and the GOP establishment versus the tea party darling - be that Palin or somebody else should she decide to not chance it. I would say that if Palin gets in and Romney does well in some early primaries, it could well rip the GOP in two very ragged and bloody factions.

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

not gonna happen. the gop power struture knows a palin run would be a disaster, and they will stop it. despite the ego feeding going on right now, most people know she's a lousy choice.

And if by chance she did ever toss her hat in the ring, the chances of winning the primary would be remote. Lots of people like her (and a lot seem to hate her) but not too many consider her legit presidential material.....

    .
Doesn't she have a new reality tv show starting soon (or just started?). She's very good at getting press which is what this all is IMO.

I'm sorry but no one quits their job as governor and expects to run for president. And if they do, a vast majority will not support them.
