Somalia has a future. If you saw Somalia, you'd see its potential. Somalia in a coma is amazing to observe imo.
The private sector of Somalia has boomed. Somalia telecommunications. Already a large percentage of the country has internet compared to other African countries in the continent who have waiting lists of years for landline to be installed, took just a few days in Somalia. One of the benefits I suppose of no regulation, taxes or Government to answer to

At the way I talk about Somalia. I may as well one day make a thread just for it

I agree this is a problem. The law should be revoked but in many Muslim countries there are restrictions to free speech anyway and in those where Non Muslims are a minority, there are even more laws.

While it is largely up to Muslims to carry out these reforms, what role can non Muslims play in trying to hurry the process along?

Right now I see the fundamentalists winning, and of course that increases the danger to everyone, Muslim and non Muslim alike.

Quite right, but how do you convince others of that? That's the problem.

Unfortunately mankind hasn't nearly reached the top of the evolutionary ladder and with nuclear weapons soon to be in the hands of radical religious fanatics, we may never get there.

Somalia has the light blue colour in honour of the United Nations. The star of Somalia has 5 points, each star representing a branch of the Somalis: French Djibouti, Somalis of Ethiopia that reside in land stolen from us by the ****ing Ethiopians :/. British Somaliland, Italian Somalia and the Somalis of North Kenya

    Just a cruel coincidence.
Gee, Somalia can't even handle its own country and now you want Djibouti (Afars and Issas), Ogaden in Ethiopia and northern Kenya??? I actually prefer the idea of recognizing Somaliland as independent as they at least have a functioning government...

Of course not. That would ofc be a dream of all Somalis but it is no longer possible.
Somalis in Djibouti and Kenya have a home with their States, we wouldn't take that away and risk annexing.

But I do want our land stolen from us by the Ethiopians. I hope Somalia settles for no more than the return of Ogaden. Ethiopia fears a strong Somalia and it should. The last time we had a war, we almost got back our land. It's only a matter of time, the second Somalia has peace. All eyes will be looking North to our neighbour

But you are one of the few I see out there condeming it... I have travelled extensively in several Muslim countries, especially Indonesia. Indonesia was once one of the most moderate Islamic countries out there, but radicals are even gaining there as well...

When and how did the Ethiopians steal the land from the Somalis... Ethiopia as a state has existed for far longer and its historical domains are much greater than they are now. I am sure they would like Eritrea back too, land that once belonged to the predecessor state of Ethiopia known as Axum (Aksum) but was taken by Muslims in the 8th century...

Ogaden used to be part of Greater Somalia. It is inhabited by Somali Muslims and always has been.
Ethiopia with a back alley deal with the British was given Ogaden and have refused to give it back to us, now claiming it is their land. Since then Somalis have been fighting Ethiopian troops for a return to Somali rule including two wars between Somalia and Ethiopia and the rebels have bombed Ethiopia numerous times and vice versa.
Ethiopia is not allowing Somalis in Ogaden a referendum on where they choose to go, not to mention the countless horrors Ethiopian soldiers have done in Ogaden.

They can take Eritrea. Shame those in Eritrea doesn't like them. Ethiopia is now landlocked and surrounded by Muslim countries. Hehe.

On the issue of Somaliland, I am no longer as sure as I used to be that Somaliland's Independence will be in the best interest.
