Supreme Court: "Don't Ask Don't Tell" OK during appeal.

I bet it would be a measuring stick for what's right and what's wrong, if an overwhelming majority of that 100% approved of the abolition of DADT.

Given that the common argument against courts overturning gay marriage bans is it goes "against the will of the people" it is just fun to argue that 70-80% of Americans do not support DADT and 70% of troops think repealing the ban will have no effect. Then you get to look at the homophobes who chirp about "will of the people" and ask them how they feel about that positon given the opposition to DADT. Logically, a majority vote still does not mean right or wrong, but emotionally, its quite cathartic to rub the homophobe's noses in their "will of the people" argument.

If you thought I called you a liar, I apologize for that. However, what I thought I said was that you were pulling figures out of your ass. In either event, I think an argument could be made for either position. Sure the Commandant made the claim, but it seems like he was pulling the figures out of his ass and it is not supported by the findings of the Pentagon study.

Now....as for your changing tune.....Are you still ok with it as long as the military is? or are you going to be singing a different tune?

Now your calling the Commandant of the MC a liar.....I guess in your mind anyone who disagrees with you is a liar...............Sad,,,,Oh and thanks for the apology, its so much fun to prove you wrong...:)

Nobody is calling him a liar. We are just saying he is incredibly ignorant about statistics.

But, those numbers aren't accurate. Are they?

Again...I'm not calling him a liar. I'm saying that trying to extrapolate that 95% of the marine corps is against DADT based on a show of hands at a town hall meeting is akin to pulling figures out of one's ass. This will be proved by the Pentagon study that shows almost the exact opposite.

What tune are you going to sing when the final results of the study are released Navy? Will you be a man of integrity and stay true to your word? Or will your outdated homophobic hatefulness be too much to overcome and you'll go back on your word?

DD I will tell you what I will do if the military accept the repeal of DADT I will go along with it you will make the committment to never bitch about the issue again....My question for you is will you make the same committment...I know the answer you never accept the will of the people whether its in DADT or gay marriage or any other issue where the will of the people is expressed.................

Bull****. You made this claim, then the survey from the Pentagon of over 100,000 active duty members was leaked indicating that most of the military does not care if gays serve openly and 70% think the ban can be repealed without problem. So you found one commander from one of the military branches who argues from a show of hands of some his subordinates that most of those people think there could be problems if gays were allowed to serve openly and you argue that is enough evidence for you to reject repealing this policy.

Dude you clearly don't want the ban repealed so stop playing this, "if the troops say it is okay" game. We all know that even when it is conclusively shown that a majority don't care, that you will argue that the minority is sizable enough that the ban should not be repealed. Just be honest because nobody is buying it.

Acceptance of Gay People in Military Grows Dramatically - washingtonpost.com
75% according to a washington post poll support allowing gay people to serve openly.

Gates launches probe into leak of Pentagon study on gay ban - Yahoo! News
Unauthorized leak of pentagons DADT says
More than 70 percent of troops said the effect of repealing the 'don't ask, don't tell' policy would be positive, mixed or nonexistent, the Post reported.

Although that, of course, is not official yet. The official results are due in December.

The first is accurate. The second is possibly accurate but not yet confirmed.

In other words....a Leopard can't change its spots.

I see you did not accept my challenge,,,,,,Why am I not surprised..............ROTFLMAO :)

You've already said this is what you would do. Why should anyone make a bet for you to do something you claim you were already going to do?

My only conclusion is that you had no intention of just accepting the military's decision.
