I suspect lots of patriots have said much the same thing. I bet that guy also eats a few meals each day too.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

What the dems should do is simply let the taxcuts expire and then reintroduce middle class tax cuts next year in the senate and dare the republicans to fillibuster it during the lame duck session.

    Can't happen.
    Constitution 101:
    Article I
Section 7. All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

and dare the republicans to fillibuster it during the lame duck session
The lame duck session ends this year.

Developments like this one makes me think the momentum is swinging towards disaster. Maybe we have to hit rock bottom before we will face reality?
Money in the hands of the federal govt usually spells doom on a long term basis. The fed extends its reach where the states should be taking responsibility. That's why the fed should concentrate only on its constitutional duties, primarily defense, foreign policy and interstate commerce justice and protecting the rights of the people.
