    I don't think being Anti-Mcdonalds means you're anti-American.

I mean he's wrong, but that term is thrown around FAR TOO OFTEN.

    Ok lets see now.

Consumer driven demand can be flawed sometimes in the way that, people don't always make smart choices. McDonalds exists only because there is a demand for that product. McDonalds has managed to feed more people, at a lower cost, in more places then has ever been tried in human history. It's actually shocking how much McDonalds food is consumed every day. Once again, ONLY because the demand is there. But its food for christ sake (Well, thats debatable)

People want to make bad choices of diet, I suppose they should be able to. Society unfortunately accepts this, but Obesity is fast becoming a bigger killer then cigarettes or heart disease (Which it sometimes causes). When I come down to the states, I am literally shocked at the size of people that I see. It's unbelievable that a human being could actually become that large. It's ****ing scary.

But its their choice, and just because there are demands for things, doesn't mean we always cave in and give it. Child Pornography is a multi-billion dollar a year industry, doesn't mean we support it and corporatize it. We're not THAT greedy. Now before you think I'm at all comparing McDonalds to child pornography, I'm not, I'm merely speaking about Consumer Driven Demand.

    So. There you have it.

Re-read the posts... My statement has nothing to do with being "anti-McDonalds". It's about being against freedom and liberty.

In America. You have the freedom to think that Freedom and Liberity are piece of **** sentiments. To deny him that right in turn makes you against freedom and Liberity. An Oxymoron I know, but I believe my logic is sound.

I can certainly understand the impetus behind wanting to restrict such things, but these responsibilities do not fall with the government. They fall with parents and individuals. If parents are willing to allow their kids to eat horrid food, that is their right. Just as it is the right of any individual to want to ingest such foods.

We also have the right to tell him that his thoughts are anti-American.

Though, I agree with you, that allowing anti-American thoughts, and speech to be said is 100% American.

I once heard a rather famous food critic say that the vast majority of people have three main desires in selecting a restaurant:
1- they don't get sick after eating the food
2- its fairly inexpensive or even outright cheap
3- they have a good size parking lot

In the case of McDonalds the old Meat Loaf song comes to mind - two out of three ain't bad.

I also think that people throw around terms like "Anti-American" far too much. It's absurdity that stems more from partisanship than anything else.

When did I deny, or attempt to deny him/her from exercising the right to express that opinion? The fact is, I didn't.

My comment wasn't on his/her expressing an opinion, it was based on the content of that opinion.
