Proposition 19 to legalize marijuana defeated....

What was missing in the debate, and apparently by you, is that medical marijuana is prescribed by doctors, the same as all other medical prescriptions.

The tragedy is that MM is the only effective pain killer, and those millions who live in pain will be forced to deal with underground sources and give the profit to thugs who don't pay taxes.

I don't have a problem with pot as a medication for camcer........My aproblem is the abuse of medical pot that goes on in California........

I don't have to...Its obvious to anyone that knows anything about politics that the BBC is a left wing rag.......Its about as left wing as moveon.org....If you did not know that then your the only one doesn't.........

Message I'm getting:

I didn't even look at the article or the study

I can't refute it, so I call BBC left wing rag because they dont support my point of view that Obama is a sleeping terror cell and fags are bad.

Once again can't address any evidence to the contrary of my view point.

Did you read my entire comment, or did you decide to just skim over the part where I reminded you that BBC didn't do the study. They just reported on it.

My problem is the people in charge of elections attempting to influence or bias an election by putting wedge issue propositions on the same ballots with political candidates. It's an attempt to draw out more voters to one side or another.

Who cares if that piece of paper failed? People smoke dope on the sidewalk in California. Marijuana has long been accepted on the left coast. It was just a way to draw the stoner's to the polls to vote against the conservatives. Didn't work! Neener! Neener!

The right does it too. Want to pull more rightwingers off the couch? Put a referendum on the ballot that allows queers to get married.

To me, that's voter manipulation and it should be outlawed.

Whatever, you lefties don't believe anyone is far left............

You have to understand that I am fighting the good fight against radical liberalism on 4 or 5 threads at the same time so if I miss some menial detail you will have to excuse it.......

a lot of truth in what you say, that is why I rarely visit California..........

Besides 6 weeks at B-double-E in San Diego (for which I RARELY even left the base) I have been to Californina once. I saw the big donut and bought a bag of oranges. That's enough for me. I most likely will never go back there. That is, if I don't have to.

Are you kidding me? Good god, I've never heard such BS. "Radical liberalism" died out on the whole a fwe decades ago, now there are only small pockets of it. Right now, the Western World is in a fight against radical conservativsm, in the form of radical islamists.

Those guys make Navy look like a liberal! Yikes! LOL!

I am at war with everybody. I am circling my wagons around me and my family (and a few friends) and as far as I'm concerned everybody else can go to hell. LOL!

Let me just say this, if weed was legal I don't think I would ever touch another drop of liquor again my entire life, probably live longer and never get glaucoma.

The problem here is that the stoners forgot where their precinct voting place was. That didn't affect Jerry Brown though, since he won the Moonbeam vote. Lucky him.

They were like, "Dude. Didn't we just vote? That couldn't have been more than a couple of years ago. Wow. Hey, check out this grape kush I got down at the 7-11. Have you seen my controller?"

And yet you still avoid addressing the point. I also fail to see how this would be defined as "radical liberalism".

This is an issue that transcends political affiliations, and one would think legalization would and should be a conservative issue.. more freedom, less nanny state, reduced spending, and smaller government.

I think because pot is associated with hippies, hippies tend to be liberal, also associated with minorities also tend to be a bit more liberal, etc. I don't know one sound minded person in Kentucky, Republican or Democrat that thinks it's a bad thing to let people get a little high and not have to worry about pissing dirty. Want to know why people do hardcore drugs? Because pot, something that will just make you giggle a lot and eat a bunch of Doritos stays in your system for about 2 weeks to a month. Crack? about 2-3 days.

You make pot legal, you get rid of a lot of problems and the domino effect is savings to the tax payer.

Hey. If America is stupid enough to leave money on the table, help finance organized crime, waste money on useless prohibition, we deserve to pay the tax for just being dumbasses. In fact, sometimes I think if we had a tax on stupid, we would have NEVER ran into a deficit.

We do it's called booze and tobacco. One of the Japanese engineers at work told me in Japan, they pay about $2.50 for a pack of cigarettes. Here we pay about an average of $5. A lot of that is the "sin tax" and other various taxes used to fund education, children's healthcare, etc. If marijuana was legal the cost of it would go down, however that would leave room to tax the **** out of it, so either way you would be paying just the same as buying it illegally right now.

Frit-O-Lay? Their stock will triple and they would put so many people to work by building new potato chip factories. Just think of how many jobs will be created.

This is an accurate statement! ^^^ I'm for legalization of weed! And I'm (Last time I checked) very conservative. :)

Yep, I have no problem with bud. We get along just nicely. :)

You sure you ain't one of them pot smoking hippy liberal socialists? Show me your Dale Earnhart decal.

Doesn't cannabis destroy brain cells?

Doesn't cannabis destroy brain cells?

Doesn't alcohol destroy brain calls?

Doesn't second hand tabacco smoke cause Cancer...

Doesn't over use of Tylenol lead to liver problems...

You do realise we aren't the smartest species on this planet. If anything, we are by far the dumbest. We know whats good for us, yet we don't do it.

A study recently published found that the drug by far most harmful to Society was alcohol. You simply cannot refute that. I don't see weed causing broken families, I don't see weed causing a husband to beat his wife and children.

Now granted weed can have negative effects, I have felt some of them. But don't start waving the effects in peoples faces and saying "HEY LOOK ITS BAD FOR YOU!" Who the **** cares whats bad for us? Certainly not as bad for you as a ****ing Triple Whopper I'll tell you that.
