Yes! The dems have been controlling the white house and congress for the last 10 years and we are sick of it. They got us in to two messy wars, increased spending to record levels, and deregulated the housing market so the economy collapsed. Time to get some Republicans in there for a change.

I don't care about the tea party...I care about Conservatives...Oh and by the way, I just haard on the news that the activist judges in Iowa who approved gay marriage were all kicked to the curve ...........How sweet it is........

YOu missed the point Navy....the whacko far right wing candidates have been rejected across the board. For the GOP to succeed they are going to have to put forward more moderate candidates. It will be interesting watching the battle play out for the soul of the Republican party.

As for you second point....irrelevant. The tide is turning and it isn't going to be an issue in a couple of years. You are slowly losing the battle there navy....

Yeah Like Rubio in Fla and Paul in Kentucky............Be very afraid of Senator my left wing friend.........He is a hispanic conservative with a huge upside........Can you say VP candidate in 2012 and carrying the hispanic vote...............

Well...that's 2 of the 3 seats that they won. They lost pretty much every other seat.
As for Rubio....LOL....do you think Latinos are really that stupid that they are going to vote for someone just because they are of latin descent? Sorry Navy....but there isn't a serious GOP Presidential candidate out there yet....maybe there will be one, but so far, none of the front runners stand a chance.

Why don't you explain it in great detail? Please. If it weren't for the Tea Party, none of this would have happened. BTW, who won most of the governors races?

The only thing that happened was R took the congress, D held the senate and still commands the high ground.

They had to spend a **** load of money to save Harry Reid, and don't forget about the governorships. You understate what happened last night. The Tea Party came within 5 points of kicking the biggest man in Congress right in the ass. Not bad for the first time out.

BTW, the whole legislature is called Congress, made up of the House and the Senate.

That was always known to be a long shot, no one is surprised. I doubt Obama will get the message though.

LOL nice way to spin it. Yes the Tea Party came within 5 points of kicking the biggest man in the Senate... but also the most unpopular man out there. Angle and "random GOPer" were MILES ahead in early polls and the very fact that they could not defeat him, shows that the Tea Party is a failure on this front at least. And the Republicans pumped a ton of money into the race too ... and failed. Republicans pumped in 100s of millions in California and failed badly. The Tea Party banner child in Alaska looks like failing as well.

While it was a bad night for the Dems, it was in no way a brilliant night for the Republicans because it exposes a clear rift in the party and that rift cost them a majority in both houses. Yes like it or not, the Republicans could have won the senate if a "normal" Republican had been in place in Alaska, Nevada, and Deleware and frankly even in California.

If I were a Dem now, I would be privately be smiling over the result.. it could have been way worse, and the end result makes the chance that Obama getting a second term rather big.
 
I am glad Reid is still around. I didn't want the GOP to get the senate because the real goal is to get rid of the socialist in chief in two years and not having Reid would hurt that effort. we have enough to block any controversial supreme court nominee and of course we can defund Obama care. But we didn't need Obama being able to blame the GOP for every screw up that happens starting in January. Reid is still senate leader and a big target to paint with the brush of failure and taint Obama by association

It wasn't tea party candidates. The lesson that came out of this election is that America is a "centrist" nation. They rejected Democrats due to inability to clean up the GWB mess....and they rejected the far-right extreme tea bagger candidates.

How in the world are you suggesting this?

Mike Lee won by 30% in utah in the senate.

Rand Paul won by 10% in kentucky in the senate.

Tim Scott in SC's race for a house seat won by almost 40%

Nikki Haley won the SC governor race by 4%

Maine hasn't been called yet but LePaige is currently winning in the Governor race.

Jesse Kelly is down in the house race in Arizona but its too close to call at the moment

Ken Buck is down by .4% with still 13% left to report and the race is too close to call

Marco Rubio won by 20% over a former republican indepdendent and almost 30 over the democrat in the senate.

Ron Johnson won by almost 5% over a long time and well known member of the senate in Fiengold.

Your big losses so far is Angle, Miller, and O'Donnell. O'Donnell wasn't exactly expected by most reasonable observers, including the reasonable oens in the tea party, to take the seat. And Miller essentially lost to a Republican.

I know this may come as a stunning shock to you Disney, but just because the media and democrats were obsessed with Angle and O'Donnell and tried DESPERATELY to make them the face and singular focus of what the tea party is because they were the best fodder for attacking them to create ratings and/or political advantages, doesn't actually make them the whole of the Tea Party let alone the main ones.

Johnson, Rubio, and Paul into the senate are all big ones. LePaige and Haley (and while not as much Tea Paryt specifically backed, Martinez in NM as well) are big ones in governor seats.

To suggest there was an "across the board repudiation" is nothing but an incredibly ignorant comment and I suggest you actually look at the results and educate yourself on it before speaking on it again.

No, they did not.

Why are you continuing to peddle this line.

NUMEROUS Tea Party backed candidates won at every level of these elections. The exit polling show that the Tea Party had a 40% approval rating compared to a 31% disapproval rating by those that were voting. The three biggest Tea Party losses...one was a candidate that had been behind in the polls continually and wasn't expected to be anything but an outside shot, one lost to a write in republican, and one lost to the Senate Majority leader in a state he's known for pulling out unexpected amount of turnout for.

Meanwhile you have tea party members ousting long standing senators, making inroads in NE, taking major battle grounds like Florida, and ushering in governing situatiosn that haven't been seen in decades in some states.

Your blind hatred and bias against the Tea Party is making you look simply foolish in your proclomations Disney. Seriously, go look at the results objectively.
