.and I'm not weepy at all. I'm actually very happy for the most part....This election reminded me once again why I moved to California. Most all of my candidates won. The one that looks like he is going to lose is the one Republican that I voted for.
The reality is....by losing the house, the Democrats probably just reassured winning the whitehouse in 2012. If the economy improves, Obama is likely to benefit in 2012...if it doesn't, the GOP is not going to be in a good position to say "hey...we did so well with Congress....give us the whitehouse".
All in all....I don't feel bad about the election at all.

This is just rationalization DD, this is what you do, post some oddball spin on your party's failures thinking it would change reality. It's sad and funny actually. And while kalifornia voted in the same dimwits that bankrupted the state, I'm sure you can find time to get a towel to wipe your electoral teabagging off your face.

The funny yet sad thing about many of your posts like this one Rev....is that you don't see the glaring hypocrisy in your own words.

As for Rubio....LOL....do you think Latinos are really that stupid that they are going to vote for someone just because they are of latin descent? Sorry Navy....but there isn't a serious GOP Presidential candidate out there yet....maybe there will be one, but so far, none of the front runners stand a chance.
I thought you said the Republicans would only pick up a few seats in the HOR........It was a blood bath, one of the worse in history..........

You mean the moderate/conservative Blue Dog Democrats who got massacred by conservative candidates? Or the moderate RINOs who got tossed on the keisters in the primaries? As Zyph said, the two high profile tea party defeats were two of the kookiest and most vulnerable candidates. The third one was a guy who lost to a Republican moderate running as an independent. Solid Tea Party candidates like Paul and Rubio are what should be the face of the Tea Party and they could be the future of the Republican Party. But they don't say crazy things like "I dabbled in witchcraft" so they don't get the national coverage the other two loons got.

I was wondering last night how left wing partisans would try to spin the results, and not surprisingly you're name popped into my head. And I have to say, so far you've managed to exceed all my expectations.

I never said that your Republican party would "only pick up a few seats"....I said that they would pick up between 45-50. I was off slightly....but not as badly as your prediction that they would win 80...LOL.....

The results of the election were definitely a mixed bag. Clearly the Republican party did well in the house, but did not have a particularly strong showing in the Senate, losing most of the close races and not coming close to taking the Senate.
The more interesting thing to come out of this election is to see what direction the GOP takes....if the teabaggers are able to push the GOP further to the right, I think that this would be very good for the Democrats and lefties like me. The more linked the GOP is to Sarah Palin and the fringe groups, the better for us...in fact, I hope that Palin feels a surge and rides it to the party's nomination. 2012 should be fun.

I'm glad. But my "spin" is no different that the spin from the far right.....actually I would have to say I've even been more moderate. The reality is...the lesson that I hope the GOP doesn't learn is that America is a centrist country. As a far-left liberal I hate to admit that...and I hate having Blue Dogs and moderate Democrats, but I accept that this is the reality. If the GOP accepts your spin and believes that this is a mandate to move the country to the hard right....that can only be good for people like me because they will alienate the vast majority of the people in this country.
