She repeatedly referenced Ronald Reagan's optimism. She said she felt a kinship with farmers in the room because she's the owner of a family fishing business.

In fact, it goes beyond that. During one portion of her speech, which I saw, she actually compared herself to the Gipper. Made me want to throw up. Ronald Reagan, like him or not, had a brain, and a pretty good one too. There is no comparision here.

In fact, Palin's ignorance goes much further as well. Ronald Reagan went to Eureka College in Illinois, and did not go to California until 5 years later. Palin, in her speech, touted Reagan's academic life in Eureka, California. Yes, California has Eureka, but no Eureka College there, although there is a College of the Redwoods close by. Reagan did not go to college there.

This may seem trivial to most of you, but it does point towards something that the Republican Party already knows. The GOP may, in fact, be on track to defeat Obama in 2012, but you can count on the fact that Palin will not be the standard bearer. To be perfectly blunt, she is even more unfit for the office than Obama is.

What people see in her I can't imagine. Not only does she make totally ignorant statements, her sharp tongue combined with those ignorant statements is appalling. Who can forget her, "Obama pals around with terrorists" statement.

Obama may not have had the qualifications some wanted for a CIC, but at least he's got a brain in his head, and isn't into the personal attacks to gain stature. He's also not a quitter. I still would like to know if she actually got her degree after transferring from one college to another five times, and we all know she couldn't even finish out her term as governor of Alaska.

If I were a conservative or republican I would cringe everytime Palin takes the podium. I'm not much of a Reagan fan but the idea of comparing him to Palin is just plain laughable.

She recieved a BA in communications majoring in journalism ;)

Have you seen the diploma?
It could be fake just like Obama's birth certificate! :lamo

(No I'm not a birther!)

I still say she's a secret canadian

Actually she is Russian spy sending communications to Mother Russia via smoke signals from her back yard.;)

Why isn't she showing her birth certificate to prove she isn't Russian? She could have settled this so easily, but has instead chosen to ignore these legitimate concerns that the American people have!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're old enough to recall--better than I am--that Leftists claimed that Reagan wasn't as smart as Godlwater.

History repeating itself. Or what?

So, you're a birfer?!?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Palin is still wrong correct? So whats your point?

So, you're a birfer?!?

I'm not making accusations, I'm just asking questions. I don't think Sarah Palin is Russian, but isn't it interesting that The Media isn't reporting on these questions?

Just as interesting that MSNBC isn't asking about Obama's citizenship.

Not getting satire seems to be a common trait amongst conservatives.

Ohhhhh, so now it's just satire?!? OK!!! :rofl

Nice save. You were just about to get labeled as a birfer.

It could explain why some of them support someone as dumb as Palin. :lamo

Do you really think people can't see through your silliness? Just asking.

I find it interesting that you mention this particular speech where she misspoke but a few weeks prior to this speech, she mentions that Reagan went to Eureka in Illinois.

I am not surprised though, when she actually talks policy (education mostly), the left usually tries to ignore it because...well...the media bias just doesn't permit that sort of thing, "factual reporting"....

Yep it's the media's fault she's so ignorant. Got it!

Palin/Factual? Isn't that an oxymoron? :lamo

It's weird how the right sees Reagan. It's this rose-colored-glasses thing that defies reality. Palin epitomized that a while back when she was at a Tea Party thing with Michele Bachmann. They were talking about the nuclear arms treaty we recently worked out with Russia, saying how REAGAN wouldn't BACK DOWN, wouldn't sign this treaty that WEAKENS AMERICA, etc etc.

Except for where Reagan gave speeches saying he wanted to totally eliminate nuclear weapons, and signed a nearly identical treaty with Russia that cut our stockpiles by an identical percentage.

Over and over this happens. It's like the right just forgot what Reagan actually did and made up their own image of him.

Palin quit half way through her term, she makes millions of dollars doing campaign rallies and speaking arrangements, and all while offering no solutions herself. Fantastic leadership.

Because its not a direct shill for a political party that basically functions off of a model of doing its best to make a particular demographic of people feel that they are right for ratings when the entire spectrum of human political reality would cause them to fall over and die if and when it were taken into perspective by them?

Get outta town. MSNBC and Fox aren't news corporations they're opinion confirmation factories. You wont be satisfied till they both confirm YOUR opinion.

Dude that is one massive run on sentence! I think I almost blacked out from loss of breath reading it.

But hey I agree with you!

Exactly. Palin is a very good speaker and a very intelligent woman. The media took like one or two mishaps during her very first interview when she started campaigning and slammed her for being stupid. Then they try to smash her because she only has a bachelors degree and went to several different state colleges and took 6 years to get it. Just because Hussein Obama went to Columbia University and then Harvard Law school, doesn't make him smarter than Palin. She believes in the constitution, she knows the terrorist threat we face everyday, she knows economies grow by cutting taxes for the wealthy because they create jobs, and most importantly, unlike our socialist president, she believes in freedom.

I take it all you Einsteins have been elected CEO of a state?

Jealousy is so ugly.
