If I'm an electrician I have no choice but to be in the union.


I am not forced to invest in companies I don't like.

You do not have to be in a union if you are an electrician, you can become an independant conctrator, find a different company to work for. Given the very low rate for private sector unionization, anyone not in the private sector not wanting to be in a union most likely can find a job in their field that does not require them to be. So if your issue with the union is that they are donating your money to politicians you dont like, you can find another job.


No different then not investing in companies that donate to politicians you dont like

I couldn't help but notice this little bit in the article:

So... they're going to harass hispanics and blacks? Seriously, who else are they going to stop based on appearance? "You look like you might be a convicted felon." or "You look like you might be an illegal immigrant."

Ever notice how nobody ever uncovers plots to rig elections for the liberal side?

I think we'd be surprised how many businesses and churches try and shove their political choices on their employees or parishiners. Many just don't know any better.

Was he speaking one behalf of the Church or on his own behalf. Deacons are the lowest rung on the Catholic clerical heiarchy (and also, was he a permanent or temporary deacon). Doubtful he was speaking on behalf of the Church, likely speaking on his own behalf, which is quite legal.

There are rules in some states, and polls are not open from 6am to 9pm in every state. Each state sets its own election laws and poll opening times.

In Taiwan, elections are always on SAturdays and polls are open from 8AM to 4PM, and has a MUCH higher turnout than the US even though people often have to travel long distances to the town they are registered in to vote...
