45 people on a north Atlantic island decided a Danish election in the 1998. Did the right (who lost that election) complain and demand recount and take it to the courts? No, since we Danes have faith in our election system at all levels. The election stood and we had a socialist government for another 3 years before it was finally defeated at another election. I was very bitter in the 1998 election (since I was very very politically active then) and could not believe that the right wing parties had lost because of 45 inbred north Atlantic islanders (Yes I used more colourful words at the time.. Ironically my girl-friend at the time came from.. you guessed it..she was equally pissed, since her parents were lefties hehe) But I accepted it. But we (the right) took power 3 years later with the present NATO general secretary as Prime Minister and still hold power.. for now.

What I am trying to say, any election fraud can have grave consequences and an election system has to be made to prevent that. The very integrity of ones democratic system is at stake if you ask me. And as long as one or both sides can scream "election fraud" or "election based issues" then you have a problem with the system it self.

Can you just hear the right if this was 5 votes that had went their way? It would be a setup by the left to discredit the election.

Nope can't hear it... so let me understand - which of these excuses are you in support of?

    - They're old people, they are confused
    - They're old people, they forgot they checked Reid after they walked in
    - This is all a vast right wing conspiracy
    - This is all a misunderstanding and was taken out of context
    - Someone "misspoke" about the incident
    - Reid is the actual victim here (enter irrational baseless nonsense here ____________________).
    - This is all Bush's fault (ie. BDS)
    - Nothing to see here ... O'Donnell is a WWWWWIIIITTTTCHHHHHH!!

Or is it all of the above?
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

I know you asked that to Redress, but i would like to give my answer on it. I think that right now, with only five people, you can safely assume that it was more to do with the machines. They are fairly sensitive, or at least the ones I used were, so it isn't hard to believe that they mistakenly hit the wrong person's name without realizing it. I think with only five people it isn't enough evidence to say this is voter fraud.

Wah! Old people can't use touch screens. Wah!

You haven't even lost and y'all are whining and making excuses already.

But, that's what you're good at. Whining, bitching, and moaning. You've already shown American that you're no good at leading - what with starting two wars without paying a dime for them, giving out huge tax cuts to the top 1% without cutting spending, failing in oversight of Wall Street and letting them walk away with tax-payer and investor dollars to line their pockets.

But, Americans have short memories. All you have to do is scream about Mexicans, Muslims, and Medicare and you can dupe them into voting for you. God, we're a gullible people.

It was a problem with the machines being sensitive and the users. All 5 cases in how many people voting. Oh wow, that is the most likely answer...

I agree - but then again, I'll go back the whining of 2004 and the year long complaint of a stolen election and that came from Democrats. Now when it's in their favor, it's to be dismissed so easily? You see the hypocrisy here... and ah, who was arrested and what fraud was identified in 2004? Taking partisan politics out of it, of course there's not enough evidence yet. The problem with that is, once there is enough evidence the person elected won't be recalled. I seem to remember something with Franken in the 2008 elections... about voter fraud and convicted felons. It's now 2010 and Franken is still there...

The bottom line is, if one party can get away with fraud, even if it's found years later, nothing is done about it.

I don't know if it is being dismissed, but rather 5 people complaining about something on sensitive machines isn't much right now. The stolen election thing is funny because if Democrats wanted to blame anyone they should blame Nader because those that voted for Nader most likely would have voted for Gore, giving him Florida. However, I do think that people who commit voter fraud should be charged and brought before a jury.

Re: Nevada Voters Complain Of Problems At Polls

It doesn't matter to me whether this is fraud in favor of the democrats or the republicans. What matters to me - is this fraud? It should be investigated and those responsible should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. I don't care what side of the aisle these folks reside, if this is a problem, it needs to be dealt with.

In this thread, we've seen the resident partisan hacks on both sides cry right out of their playbooks. And of course, Petey made his usual "blah, blah, blah, Bush, blah, blah" appearance. It doesn't matter if it's the democrats doing this or the republicans doing this, it needs investigated. It might turn out to be nothing at all, but it is suspicious enough to warrant a further look. Voter fraud is a big problem no matter who is committing it. This may turn out to be nothing at all, but it has the appearance of foul play and I ould like it looked into further. And for the record, I would feel the same exact way and say the same exact thing if it was Angle's name that was checked ahead of time instead of Reid's.
