Re: States Weigh Letting Noncitizens Vote

I'm a resident alien of the USA. I retained my Canadian citizenship, yet, I am every bit as American as any of you, and, for some reason, I KNOW I am not allowed to vote. I take no issue with the laws of the USA regarding this ONE requist to my living here. I, unlike the "dude" in the OP, have contributed to the country, and I still am not requesting the "vote". It was my chocie to remain a Canadian, even though all four of my children were born here, and I have no plans to return to living in Canada, it is the LAW that I cannot vote.

What's wrong with that? Nothing.. It's a fair law, you know, like the one that also says I can't receive ANY social services for the first 5 years of living here. I didn't take a dime from the tax payer, not once, and have become instead, one of the tax payers. I have a right to everything else not unlike any other citizen of the US, but I can't vote.

    I'm ok with that...

Or are you willing to fight Peacefully of course to preserve our Nation?

This is the most dangerous attack on our nation since Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.

Allowing aliens legal or not to vote could lead to a situation not unlike the one that took place back in 1981 when a Cult tried to take over and control the Community of Antelope Oregon.

They used legal citizens who were brain washed by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh to register to vote so they could take over and allow them to make all the rules so their CULT could do as they wished.

Is this a fear? HELL YES IT IS.

There are places in this nation such as parts of Los Angeles where if this were to catch on Radicals like from the Racist group La Raza, and other radical groups like MEChA, and Aztlan will turn areas into Mexico which is their goal which will lead to us being run out.

There are areas in many Cities populated by Muslims, Chinese, Korean, etc. and if allowed to do so they will return to separate but unequal, and this will I seriously fear lead to a Civil War and a BLOOD BATH.
Yeah...you might have actually been able to make a reasonable argument for why they shouldn't be allowed to vote, but instead you chose racist hysteria. Epic fail.

Personally I don't have a problem with them voting, as long as they're only voting in local elections. Permanent residents are just as much a part of the community as US citizens, so I don't see any reason why not.
    Are you coming to bed?
    I can't. This is important.

So, because you don't see the right to vote as important to you, nobody else should?

I don't consider Canadians to be aliens. I'd have no objection to resident Canadians being allowed to vote if the Canadian government offered reciprocity.

I never said it wasn't important, and if I could I would vote. I suppose I could vote if I followed the law, and either, became a citizen, or retained dual citizenship. I have no plans to doing that, so, as a result I am not allowed to vote. My choice. Seems the guy in the OP wants to vote just because he believes he is entitled to vote. He's wrong, and so are you, if you beleiev he has a right.

Oh, certainly not. We all must try so hard to maintain the illusion that we're not the same people.

Re: States Weigh Letting Noncitizens Vote

I am for giving illegal immigrants a road to citizenship if they have shown, through their actions, that they deserve and will be responsible citizens. Part of citizenship is the right to vote. I do, however, fault our citizenship for not being more willing to recognize that, like many of our ancestry who came to this country to find a better life, many of those illegal immigrants who have come from Mexico have done so for the same reasons. In Mexico today, murder, drugs, and kidnappings are a way of life. In an article posted in Criminal for a Just Society, January 21, 2010, Andre Castillo
    states
In the state of Sinaloa, one man’s tortured body was discovered hanging by his neck from a highway overpass, his hands tied behind his back. Other grisly actions have included: “public displays of battered human heads, some thrown into plazas or placed on car rooftops, some thrown outside schools; mutilated torsos hanging from meat hooks; threats and taunts to rival cartels written on walls with the blood of butchered adversaries; and video-postings of torture and beheadings on YouTube.”1 These activities, once unheard of outside the realm of shock horror film, have become depressingly common in Mexico.
Were I living in such a country, I to would risk deportation to come to America. Many of these people pay taxes and even, Social Security. This country was founded on immigrant, lest we forget.

I find it funny that the author makes all this talk about Mexico and Aztlan but the part of the story he decided to highlight mentions 'Claude Rwaganje'. I'm sure this guy actually cares about Aztlan:

Silly Gringos. DEM MEXIKUNZ GWAN TAKE YA LANDS!
I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality. - MLK
