Generation X basically refers to people born in the post-modern era. They have had better access to education and ideas than the previous generations and so they tend to be better informed... we are also the most openly diverse.
You'r also the members of the past couple of generations that think that if a government entitlement pays more than an honest job, you're going to quit the job and collect the entitlement. i.e. you don't contribute **** to the system.

No, I'm part of the generation that has to work and still put money into social security even though I am never going to see that money ever again; I'm the generation that will have to take care of the elderly who are also being given money from the same bottomless pitt that I paid into. My generation has to inherit all of the baby boomer generation's failing systems, environmental calamity, and an economy that is falling apart, all because your generation had short term vision.

My parent's generation had it easy. They had cheap college, bountiful job opportunities around every corner that didn't ask for outrageous credentials, social security and even job security, an economy that was strong and short term enough just to give them all the cheap consumer crap they wanted. Our entire system of today was their doing.

So yeah, don't whine at me about how easy Generation X has it. I am paying 200% more than your generation did just to get the same education, all the while dealing with a housing bubble, high living costs, and minimum wage jobs that don't even make ends meet anymore. I have debt up to my eyeballs and my life hasn't even started yet, all because I don't want to work 10 ****ty jobs just to be able to afford things that your generation pissed away into the wind.

I'm only 41, so it's not, "my generation". How old are you?

What world do you live in? Seriously!

I'm not saying you have it easy. I am saying that you want it easy and that just ain't how things are in real life. Please, don't act like your nuevo-Liberal agenda is going to bail the rest of us out, because that same Liberal agenda is what got us here.

LOL... yeah, keep pretending that you know what I "want", or that I've done so little work. I have shared some aspects of my life on DP but you don't know the half of it. You are just labeling me as "liberal" and then projecting your delusional opinions about liberals onto me. I have stated time and time again my position on social entitlements, it's not my fault that you are blinded by your own hypocrisy and failure to read to notice them.

Life isn't easy. Life is damn hard. I am not asking for a free ride, and if you'd be paying attention, you know that I am the furthest thing away from a free ride right now.

What a pompous, ignorant prick you are.

    I'm a pompous ignorant prick?

    Now, there's a retort!...

I've yet to see you criticize entitlements. I think you're more interested in trying to shed your Liberal stand, than anything else, because you know--as we all do--that Liberalism is falling apart. It's embarrasing to be a Libbo now-a-days.

I have avoided your posts for a long time because you stink of partisan hackery and are incapable of maintaining a linear train of thought pertaining to any rational discussion; but you know, I thought I would give you a chance just this once and throw you a bone to see if you could show some promise. You failed the test, completely and utterly; not only that, you have managed to complete alienate me from ever caring about anything you have to say again. Congrats and welcome to my ignore, pissant.

Re: Young Voters Vent Frustration To Obama In MTV Forum

A young Republican woman from Austin, Texas, in the audience, kicked things off, saying she had "very much respected" his pledge in his 2008 campaign for more bipartisanship but "to be frank, when all was said and done, I don't think that actually happened." A young man from Mississippi thought Obama was too soft on illegal immigration.
And this is when an adult not running for office should have said, "Oh, how young you are, son."

Until they figure out that the world does not magically change, they become frustrated by that reality and turn to their own lives or community service.
