Joe Biden just can’t keep his mouth shut. OK, I know that’s not exactly breaking news. But at a time when Democrats are supposed to be focused on the November 2nd mid-terms and Barack Obama has not even announced he will seek a second term, did Biden really need to declare that he’ll be on the 2012 ticket?

Here he is shooting from the lip to the New York Times:

“I tell you what, there’s real trust, that’s why he’s asked me to run again,” Mr. Biden said Monday, dropping this tidbit at the end of a 40-minute conversation, just before he dashed off to his third fund-raiser of the day. “Look, he said, ‘We’re going to run together, are you going to run?’ I said, ‘Of course, you want me to run with you, I’m happy to run with you.’ ”

I loved, near the end of the NYT piece, Biden’s plaintive “I hope they think I’m smart” response when he was asked about what voters think about him. I’m sorry to break this to you, Joe, but…

LOL... Thanks Joe. We love ya. Keep up the good work.

And just when Dems saw a little hope with the chatter about Hillary, out comes Joe to pop the balloons.

While we're on the subject of VP's...

Give me the choice between Grandpa on medication who hasn't got the dosage right.

Or Grandpa Satan...

I'll stick with Joe. He's not that bad. Just stupid.

I agree. An f'd up head (aneurysm) in Biden is better than an f'd up heart (congestive heart failure is the latest) in Cheney.

Regards from Rosie

In other shocking news, the sun is going to set tonight and it will get dark outside.

Dems have planned that Joe Biden would be the running mate. I think just about the only ones pushing the idea otherwise are far right wingers and a few in the media looking for something controversial to report on.

You be dead wrong compadre, unless you believe Bob Woodward, the guy who sparked the story is a Tea Partier, but we all know he is one of the left's idols. Not going to say he's stirring the pot, but I don't think he'd do it at that level. That had significant implications.

As I have said before, I think highly of Bob Woodward, but he is not always right, and does look for controversy to sell books.

As Clint Eastwood said in Magnum Force (1973) "A man's got to know his limitations."

Joe doesn't know his, but he is really good at wishful thinking.

Not that he will be Obama's running mate after all the Dan Quayle imitations he's managed to remind us all of, (and we know how successful G.H.W.Bush was with Quayle on the ticket).

But the part here that is wishful thinking is that Obama will be on the ticket himself.

The wicked witch of the east Hillary is being awfully quite right now and keeping a very low profile during this midterm Election.

I predict it's because she wants to be able to point fingers at all who are defeated and later directly place the blame on Obama, and at the same time resign and announce she will be running against Obama for the Democrat nomination.

A lot of people are already saying she should have the one they voted for the first time around because they too are learning he's a liar.

I hope she does run because in her past she's got a lot of baggage or is that empty booze bottles. Is she a closet smoker too?

Hey where's that guys hand? Oh I think I'm going to be sick.

Then there's this one.

This is too easy. Never do your own hair when you're drunk.

There's got to be a morning after. Looks like she made it through the night.

This is but a small sample, of the many wasted faces of some peoples favorite for 2012.

Great trade, a guy who burned out his brain cells with Coke for an old woman who pickled her brain in Alcohol.

Way to go, Lefties good choices and so consistent too. Let the name calling begin NOW!

I mean I'm used to the right wing trying to fabricate a controversy during slow news days, but this takes the cake.

Really, this is news? I had never even heard any speculation that he might NOT be on the ticket. For ****'s sake...

Oh come now , no name calling. Except for the part that all this is true the only thing fabricated are the captions which are quite accurate for the subject matter.

Do you claim Hillary is just sitting on the side line for some other reason.

Hillary Clinton Is Sitting This One Out

Those rumors persist despite denials from Clinton and her staff, as well as the White House. Keeping the chatter alive are polls showing that the public sees Clinton more favorably than either Obama or Biden.

A recent Associated Press-GfK poll showed Clinton with a 62 percent favorable rating and a 36 percent unfavorable rating. Obama's numbers in a recent poll are 57 percent favorable and 42 percent unfavorable while Biden's, from last August, are 50 percent favorable versus 43 percent unfavorable.

When asked recently about the Biden swap scenario, she replied, "I have absolutely no interest and no reason for doing anything other than just dismissing these stories and moving on."

Claim fabrication when you can't handle the truth! Sorry to have break to you this way, but if you would just read up a little and not stick to lame talking points and marching orders you'd know more about what is really going on around you.

Amazing what some people will grasp at isn't it? Just goes to show that maturity (and wisdom) and age are two completely uncorrelated issues.

Let's see... we've had speculative threads on exactly this topic because:

1. Biden's a fool. Hell, even Jet came out and said it, or something close enough.

2. The Clintons are political animals that have their eyes on one prize.

3. Dems are in the process of an ass kicking, and Obi's part of the root cause of the beat down.

4. Bob Woodward, a guy loved by leftists got the ball rolling by breaking open the story nationally and internationally.

5. Some guy in the press notes Biden's timing on this wasn't too swift... and he's right.

Are you calling Woodward immature and lacking wisdom? Now, while in you perma-angry state, let's see if you can string a few sentences together that aren't lie packed and twisting others words... for once... Shall we?

Good job there Zimmer on epic fail. Not only did you totally fail to understand what I was talking about, you went into a partisan rant irrelevant to my entire postings in this thread. And Councilman thanked you for it. I'm glad I took a break from this sheer utter stupidity.

Joe Biden the current Vice President will be Barack Obama, the current President's running mate?! THANK YOU.........

Obama will not run after seeing the 11/02/10 election results. This was a loud and clear message to his anti-business, socialist platform that passed a health care bill that was never read and understood prior to ramming it down the throats of Americans. Bye-bye Nancy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I do think this VP speculation is purely media hype, there are some Dems who would love to see Hillary on the ticket. I'd love to see her run against BO, but I doubt that will happen. *pout*

Don't be so sure.

She's between a rock and a hard place because she is secretary of state, if she hadn't of taken the job, she coulda sat in Congress and voted against her party and be on her way to 2012 success.

Biden is a good VP for Obama in that he's not polarizing. I seriously doubt that any VP choice will help Obama's vote total while choices like Hillary could very well lower it. In 2012 voters will either elect or reject Obama. The only thing that a VP candidate can do to influence that is by turning voters off

It would take a lot more than that to put his ego in check to a point where he wouldn't even run in 2012.

I suggest you study a little history..... the mid-term is always short-term bad news for the incumbent and good news for his prospects on re-election. With last nights election, the Regressives have no assumed clear responsibility. Good luck with that, given they have no new ideas. BTW, good luck with the presidency given the Regressives currently have no credible presidential candidate.

Two years is a very long time in a political cycle (eighteen months ago we were writing the Republican obituary). Enjoy the moment, but don't overly state its significance. There is real work to be done. Owning the power means you are now on the hook. Most of those seats will one day belong again to democrats. All you are buying is time.

Sounds like the left wing and their continual questions as to whether or not the new Republican house will impeach Obama. They're the only ones suggesting it.

1938 was the last time any congress lost more seats than the Democrats did last night. You can try to marginalize that all you want, it's not working.
