Reid on the Ropes in Nevada

So far, I gotta give this one to J.

No doubt Jmac has [by far] made the best arguments... However, he has a problem in that he seems to be talking to a [boo] wall. The words and replies bounce back from this wall as if they were pre-programmed into a computer with a major virus. I think I figued it out... Boo is actually a lefist programmed response to reason/logic.

First off, I am a lifelong republican moderate. Except for ONE presidential election, I have always voted GOP at the federal level. It was fairly easy to vote GOP because typically the DEMS chose idiots for their candidates. The worm has turned.
The GOP has its foot in its mouth most of the time. All the DEMS should need to do in their campaign ads is rexpose the stupidity coming from the GOP side of the fence. However, it seems the average IQ of the GOP has dropped enough (thank you GWB) that the GOP will be excused its stupidity. Conservatives will continue wanting taxes cut even if it means adding more to the national debt.

In Utah, we have a choice between a corrupt republican governor, or a flakey democrat. I am betting on the crook to win.
The Nevada race is between a DEM who has lost touch with reality, and someone else who was never in touch with reality.
In Delaware, the GOP has a really bad joke running, thanks to the Tea Party bowel movement.
And in AZ, a Quayle offspring is running for the GOP. The stupid gene is strong in that family.
As long as the GOP offers up so many poorly qualifed candidates, the DEMS opposing them will look good in comparison.

I would not do that but rather I would watch how the freshman votes after winning

If the freshman were a liberal nutter, would you be so gracious?

Probably not. If that were the case the conservative would be the clear choice just as it is here.

Well, to the non-partisan, I doubt it is that clear. ;)

Angle Nearly Lands Knockout Blow Against Reid - Hotline On Call

No debate over Nevada debate - Molly Ball - POLITICO.com

why consider the professional opinions of the publishers of the las vegas review and the las vegas sun, both major players in silver state politics?

why weigh the views of hotline (brian lamb's favorite mag, chuck todd's original home) and the journo listers at politico?

why link when instead you can just kneejerk endless empty headed assertions of adolescent abstraction?

where is the quality of thought coming from the direly diminshed obamite camp?

why did they all head for the cellar?

party on, paltry remnant

You're wasting your time Prof. Boo doesn't read posts or links that prove him wrong.

it all comes down to character

Take the first one:

I still find it incredible that more has not been made of Angle’s most egregious statement this campaign — and it didn’t even come up Thursday — which was her assertion in Mesquite this month that Sharia law had been imposed in two American cities, one of which doesn’t even exist. This Muslim-baiting, noxious construction has been ignored by all but a few news outlets (kudos to CNN), and her answer is almost more astounding: She read it somewhere so she repeated it.

That is crazy, folks. But that’s not how she came across Thursday, as Reid failed to call her on that and many other topics, making it more likely he has to make an unthinkable call to her on Election Night.

His reason for declaring her the winner wasn't a poll or any view other than his own, and his standard was that she didn't look crazy. But her quotes crazy from her.

The second one does poll any either. Just his personal opinion and his view. Same with the third.

From your forth link:

If you didn’t watch it, you made the right choice.

I see nothing here to convince me the people saw it as win. I'm very disappoint that so much was made of links that offer so little to the argument.

Take the first one:

blah, blah, blah

Declaring a winner in any political debate is the subjective opinion of the person watching. Did you not realize that ??

How did you like Reid's answer as to how he acquired enough wealth to become one of the richest members in Congress ??? Are you even aware of it ??

Are you aware of the other 'deals' ole Harry has put together while in Congress to line his pockets ???

I still find it incredible...

how could anyone care a centimeter what an insufferable idiot finds credible or otherwise?

serious observers are better off sticking with ralston and frederick, they're pros

Of course it is, which makes declaring a winner a very subjective and question endeavor. But, the question was about her winning according to the public, the voters. And being decalred the winner because you didn't look crazy? Now that's a low bar.

And I'm not voting for either, so how they became rich, nutter, incompetent, poor, stupid, transexual, or not a witch means nothing to me. I only ask why any of us should be happy about what appears to be two poor choices?

You are correct about one thing Joe, the only poll that counts is in 12 days. Will you pledge to come back in here after the carnage, and possibly take back your baseless assertions?

Your the only one setting that bar.

If you truly believe what you wrote, why did you attempt to prove nobody won the debate by posting an "opinion" from a CNN piece ???

So, just because you can't vote for either, you don't care how the Senate majority leader magically became rich ???

Did you care about Ted Stevenson ??

Did you care about Duke Cunningham ??

Or is this yet another example of your hypocrisy ?

Welcome to DP.

Now come back when you have some links to legitimate source.

Harry Ried is well liked and respected on both sides of the aisle.

Of course they don't tell you that on Teabagger News.
An admirer of teabagger news?

No, I didn't vote for any of those people. Did you?

And no, I wasn't the one setting that bar. Did YOU read the prof's links? The people in his links set that bar.

the bar was set by nature, by the inexorable physics of politics

the powerful and prominent publishers of the sun and the review were only stating what was commonly perceived, the lay of the land, and they summed up the debate accurately, fairly and wisely

that is, yes, all ms angle really had to do to win that thing was to go an hour without appearing as the whackjob fruitcake her opponents (in politics and the media) had painted her to be

i watched that debate, took notes (as always), and when it was done i got on the phone with my network of prodigiously experienced political ponderers and the verdicts of mr's ralston and frederick were consensus, hours before they were printed

she won by not coming off as a nut

there are hundreds of thousands of nevadans who are absolutely disgusted with what's going on with our political leadership, both in dc and the state

they very much want to unhouse harry but they have very real reservations about this woman who, it is true, has said some rather odd things

her appearing face to face with the leader and coming across on pretty much every topic as competent and reasonable, if rather uninspiring, probably came as somewhat of a surprise to people whose only impression of her was formed by what they'd seen and heard via msm

this is what virtually every professional observer concluded, from the sun to the review to ap to the journo listers at politico

such consensus in american politics is rare

she came across for the hour as conspicuously normal

he, in contrast, was doddering, listless, personally compromised and on the wrong side of most of the biggest issues

there, is that what you needed to hear?

LOL!

Low bar all the same.

mopped the floor, all the same

grow up

Not looking crazy is moppping the floor? Who should really grow up?

:lamo

I'd vote for someone the left considers "crazy" over a cadaver any day.

Meanwhile, remarks from a local political reporter:

Consider the performance of Nevada Republican Sharron Angle in her single public debate with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Longtime Nevada political reporter Jon Ralston, no admirer of Angle, said that Angle clearly won. Reid, wrote Ralston, "looked as if he could barely stay on a linear argument, abruptly switching gears and failing to effectively parry or thrust."

No, I didn't vote for any of those people. Did you?

And no, I wasn't the one setting that bar. Did YOU read the prof's links? The people in his links set that bar.

I didn't ask you if you voted for them, I asked if you cared whether they stole money because of their elected positions.

Based on your response to Harry's dabblings, you could care less when elected officials abuse their offices.

Hardly. If Reid is charged and convicted, I have no sympathy for him or anyone else. But don't make leaps. If reid is incompetent, as has been charged, produce a better candidate. Don't simply argue one idiot is better than another.
