Turkey is not an Islamic state (yet) and Lebanon does discriminate against homosexuals.

Oh, and Lebanon is not an Islamic state, too.

I think it's more like people need constant reminding that it's not the religion which is hideously ignorant and backward, just some of its adherants.

People have to speak out against this insanity!

Are you saying, the Comm Minister of Indonesia is an ignorant fool?

When you have a Communications Minister of Indonesia (a Muslim-majority nation) Tifatul posting comments on Twitter blaming "perverted sex acts" for the spread of AIDS, and quoting a Koranic verse about stoning homosexuals (which is kind of impressive, when you really think about it) kinda makes your post look lame
 
It would make my post look lame, except that I am saying that the Communications Monister of Indonesia is an ignorant fool.

Furthermore, the Koran is far from being the only holy book out there with that kind of language in it.

The religion isn't the problem. The ignorant fools are.
