Oh come on Alvin, Surely you can see the sheer vapid nature of basing every argument on "America sucks" can't you?

Americans are so enamored of equality that they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.

    Nope.

And you're the one making the assumptions, not me.

Ok, I as a US citizen am sorry to the world for all the evil the US has done in the past and will ask them not to do evil again.
Hence forth, I will ask the govt. not to provide aid to any country since we are so evil.

These people lived without foreign aid for centuries, well before America ever came along. Surely they can do it again.

No, he can't, J-mac. Like most Europeans, that's just who and what he is.

My stance includes all countries NOT just Latin America.

Well, we can agree we, the US, have done somethings to apologise for. Noting those, accepting just criticism is not a sign of weakness. Our national self esteem should be strong enough to handle criticism for those things that deserve criticism.

Not to speak for Alvin or anything mind you.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

I'm just wondering what you suppose the statute of limitations should be? - A Decade? Century? Two? Does it depend on how bad or dishonest it was? Do you get time off for good intentions?
