Transgender senior can't be king

Gender and Sex are two different things Demon, This person in their minds feels they are male despite having female organs. A legitimate medical phenomena called Gender Identity Disorder, so this man wins the majority of votes but since he doesn't have a penis between his legs he can't be homecoming king? Clearly the student body didn't mind so I don't see why this must be an issue, fairly stupid to me.

Also Demon, what you said is fairly offensive. As I said this is a legitimate medical condition and you here are making fun of him.

Disorder? As in mental disorder? That's all the more reason not to endorse this sort of activity. Didn't you see the episode of House where House broke out of the mental hospital with the guy who thought he was a super hero and led him to believe he was? People indulge an individual's delusions, but when you let them believe the delusions have some basis in reality you are just encouraging them to mutilate themselves. In the case of super hero guy he crippled himself after jumping off a building based on the deluded belief that he could fly. With this sort of case you are encouraging a girl to have her sexual organs turned inside out because of the deluded notion that she was born with a vagina as some sort of divine prank.

That her parents apparently endorse this is even more reprehensible. No parent should ever encourage a child to feel like there is something wrong with who he or she is as a person let alone encouraging the child to physically alter his or her body simply to conform to social pressures.

Let us be clear here. There is no such thing as "male mind" or "female mind" and that is entirely a product of the culture. A young girl thinking she must really be a boy is because she does not fit into the traditional male-female paradigm that basically corresponds to the antiquated notion of men being strong bread-winners and women being weak caretakers. It is an undesirable side-effect of the oppressive gender culture you claim to oppose and yet you think we should embrace and encourage this cultural division of the sexes.

I am sorry, but I reject that even if it offends people.

Does this kid have a *****? Yes. So I am sorry, but there is no homecoming king crown for you little missy. Of course, the ACLU thinks differently. I guess you shouldn't discriminate against people for thinking they are something they are not. So if I think I am a qualified heart surgeon a hospital should allow to me to conduct a triple bypass.

I do not see what the outrage is over over in removing a female from running as a king. A king is a male, someone pretending to be a male is not a male.

:doh

All the transphobia is making my head hurt.

What, you want this guy's gal's confidential therapy records to prove what? He's She's a guy girl, deal with it.

I crossed out the parts you got wrong. Last I checked a quack is not a biologist. So therapy is not going to determine what gender/sex someone is.

But the kids voted for this person to be king.

If a very feminine pretty girl(real girl not screwed up liberal definition of girl) was told that she could not be king would you say "But the kids voted this person to be king"?

I honestly don't think it is that big of a deal. It is not like they running for the President of the USA.

At the risk of playing devil's advocate, I think the school needs to make a firm decision and stand by it. The student stated that all the teachers refer to him/her using male pronouns. He/she is already allowed to wear the male band uniform and has been given permission to wear the male graduation gown. Why is the student allowed to identify themself as male in some situations at school and not at others?

Given that the school didn't put their foot down on any of the other issues, I don't see why they should be able to here. The student body voted for Oak. What would it really hurt to let the vote stand? It's not as though the school is saying that a female MUST be crowned over a male who had more votes. Kids are very perceptive of social issues, why not let this run its course?

Yes. Why not?

Tell me the downside of having a female homecoming king.

I guess the lesson here is to nip that **** in the butt when it starts instead of letting it go on.

You say that because you see transgenderism as something that is somehow wrong.

Check out the biceps on some of these "GUYS."

Ignore the heterophobics in our midst they have trouble with any kind of gender identification that is even semi normal.

There is one thing you might work on though, and that is use of the slang word for vagina because the use of the P word might offend the sensibilities of some.

Not you under stand, I would have freaked only had you used the dreaded C word which I never ever use, and this old guy who's been up the street and down the ally on many a dark and stormy night I find it's use offensive in the first degree. Just a friendly caution.

There is precedent.

Work That Tiara, Boy! - washingtonpost.com

(article about gay male homecoming queen)

"Officially, the university is "very comfortable with it. We're fine," spokesman Daniel Walsch said. The school does not require participants in the Mr. and Ms. Mason pageant to compete along precise gender lines, he said.

"It was just for fun," Allen, 22, said over coffee at the Johnson Center, where he was congratulated by classmates with hugs and squeals. "In the larger scheme of things, winning says so much about the university. We're one of the most diverse campuses in the country, and . . . we celebrate that."

They shouldn't give her the crown even if she had the surgery. She will always be a woman, just a woman with mutilated genitals.

Same downside as having a male Miss America.

The bikini contest sucks?

But I imagine this bloke was elected simply 'cause he was transgender, and the kids did it for the lulz, but the school should just have let it go ahead, there's no harm done to anyone anyway.

Oy gevalt, so those who want transgendered people to have equal rights are "heterophobics" now?

Now these are suely tough guys right. No they're just sad women.

Get a clue there Travelsonic. What kind of handle is that? Are you a fighter Pilot?

Never mind.

For yours and anyone Else's edification heterophobics are those people who are bigots against heterosexuals or who prefer the company of Homosexuals, transvestites, and transgenders.

Simple it's a whole new word, learn it, know it, use it love it. :2rofll::2dancing::joke:

actually that is entirely possible, as long as they have a sex change. This person is yet to be of age to qualify for one so obviously an exception should be made.

To the Conservatives, you are showing your true colors in this thread..some of these comments are dispicable, something beyond a person's control and you have the nerve to chastize them for it?

Oh, yes, obviously. Pulllleeeeze. This has absolutely nothing to do with left/right political leans -- and everything to do with plain old-fashioned common sense. In an effort to be PC, some would turn rules/traditions inside out. The rest of us would shake our heads and sigh.

We also don't know there isn't one.

Produce it then. I'm very comfortable in believing it doesn't exist. If there is a true chemical embalance that can be proven, thats another story. But based on their "feelings" lol not a chance.

would it bother you if the person that won Miss America was born male?

See I don't give two ****s, why do we involve ourselves in such pointless conflicts?
