Christine O'Donnell: 'I Dabbled in Witchcraft'

Realistically it should be a non issue. I know that liberals and progressives would not care is someone dabbled in witchcraft when they were young. Christian conservatives on the other hand might have a different attitude on it.

It is an interesting tidbit though about her

Which is exactly why she should have been prepared to answer it. Obviously she wasn't and its hurting her.

There is no way to make this look good. The act itself seems to be minor but to cancel two major appearances during or after this surfaced is really really stupid.

She probably shouldn't have accepted in the first place but to cancel in the wake of this is a horrible decision. It makes her look weak and without answers to her past.

Her only hope is to send the one message to voters. "If you want a rubber stamp to Obama's far left agenda and continue down the same path we've been on for 2 years, vote for the other guy. If you want someone to fight against this wave of a far left out of control spending and bring back fiscal responsibility vote for me"

She should never have volunteered it, is the point.
Like I said, she seems to be becoming so enamored of her own newfound status as a national celebrity that she'll be offering all sorts of bizarre personal information simply to cause a stir, maintain public interest, and remain in the headlines. To remain culturally relevant.

As someone once said about Sarah Palin's refusal to leave the spotlight after losing the 2008 election: "I hear she's been practicing the moonwalk."

I think she's been teaching McConnell the moonwalk, too.

she doesn't need to go on chris wallace (son of 60 minutes mike) to get that word out to the blue hens

indeed, they already know

the choice is clear---a sorceress or a whiskered commie converted in kenya

She just hung out with people that did that for a short time, so if this is like Obama's friends and associates, then the media shouldn't care who she hung out with.
But since she has an R next to her name, she's screwed.
This is absolutely correct.
And they say there's no bias in the media.

Disagree. The election is still 6-7 weeks away. Nobody is going to remember today's cancellations. What would have been far more damaging would be if she had appeared nationally today and had disastrous interviews. Think it is smart she is laying low and regrouping.

One of the things that did Sarah Palin in was hitting the national stage completely unprepared for how to handle it. To have any chance, O'Donnell is going to need some savvy handlers and lessons in "interview technique"......

Just makes me wonder how strong she really is.

Honestly, I think she made up the witchcraft thing, based on the context of the interview in which she said it. She was trying to boost her own credibility on the subject: "I know what they do, because I used to be one of them! But then I found Jesus."

This from a lady who once said that God will always give you a "way out" of "practicing deception."

well, if the questions are about her teenybop halloween party in 1981, that's some pretty softball stuff, right down the plate, very easy to get on base

i and most concerned americans would be far more interested to hear mr coons elaborate on his abandonment of america as a beacon, his feelings about free enterprise...

you know, important stuff

RELEVANT stuff---LOL!

If someone's actions as a 12 year old qualify as 'breaking news', it must be a slow news day.
If someone's actions as a 12 year old are the best thing you have on your political opponent, its time to concede the race, cuz you're just wasting everone's time and money.

I had no idea that McConnell was attending college at age twelve.
That's kind of disturbing in light of the fact that she claims to have been "drinking excessively" and "having sex with people, without a strong emotional connection" at the same time this "witchcraft date" allegedly occurred.

I mean, twelve?? Where were the child's parents?
Will they be prosecuted for their negligence, do you think, or has the statute of limitations already run out?

I must have misunderstood something - I thought it happened in 1981.

She must have been a liberal at the time, and has since grown up.

O'Donnell's problem with this Bill Mahr 1999 clip is that it may well be the first impression many people have of her.

Ultimately, the race will revolve around the people's concerns or O'Donnell as an issue. Right now the O'Donnell issue has the foreground.

one would have to question the intelligence of somebody who dabbled in witchcraft.

Especially in college. I can see it, possibly, in middle school or something.

Want to compare teen pregnancy and STD rates in the red states vs. the blue states?

Want to compare teen pregnancy and STD rates in the red states vs. the blue states?

Or how about dropout rates? Standardized test scores? Poverty rates? Unemployment rates? No?

Didn't think so.

graduation-rates-in-us.gif

so of the 12 states that fall in the 50.7%-64.8% range 9 of them are conservative states (going by 2008 election results).

The Midwestern states have very good graduation rates, which consist of several conservative states...The deep south would certainly be the Achilles heel though, comes as no surpise though. I've been able to witness the poor education system here.

Right now the O'Donnell issue has the foreground.
