When the pro-criminals have tried similar tactics against Joe numerous times its hard for any accusations against him to sound credible. So if he is actually doing any wrong doing and getting away with it you have the pro-criminals to thank for crying wolf so many times.

What a load of crap. The media is full of pro-criminals who hate his ass, the reason why this story is in LA times instead of major news outlets is because they do not want to look foolish reporting another bogus story and would be giving this man more publicity. When the media air stories about Joe it is to try to give him negative publicity, hope that the voters are stupid enough to blame Joe for the lawsuits instead of the scumbag sympathizers with ulterior motives for filing them, and hope that maybe someone with more authority than Joe removes Joe. So it is the medias fault Joe has publicity in the first place, the just didn't count on the fact it would backfire on them. Most Americans do not think inmates should have luxuries while in jail or prison and probably wish their county had a sheriff like Joe.

We are not talking about his jails. If joe would have stuck with the jail stuff, he'd still be a god to many more people. But here's news, he is a joke in the law enforcement community, not just the press, not just with level headed americans. He is small time, his round ups only net traffic offenders, he has thousand of unserved felony warrants. I forgot, he has done one thing to bring down criminal behavior, he has caused illegal aliens to become better drivers. Those that want him as his sheriff better read the label.

Fox and talk radio would try to portray it as Obama picking on Sheriff Joe Arpaio, but the media in general would not. Sheriff Joe did not become sheriff the second Obama became president so Obama could have tried any and everything to remove Sheriff Joe the second he became president and midterms where a year or two away.

If all the other stuff thrown at Sheriff Joe Arpaio was a load crap then how do we know that these new accusations are not crap as well? When your group spews crap all the time no one believes you. Only those on the I hate Sheriff Joe Arpaio band wagon will believe you regardless of how absurd the accusations are.

TBone, I have to disagree a bit on you saying Maricopa county is not liberal. When dealing with the board of supervisors, I would not classify the majority as conservative. With the Wilcox as a supervisor, How would you classify her and other members of the board? IMO, they sure are not conservative. Also, would you agree that many on the board pander to a certain group (minority as far as race, not population)? It amazes me how some get elected, when Joe continues to also be reelected.

I wonder what this political BS has to do with being a racist and the mistreatment of Illegal Aliens. Political dirty tricks may come and go but I hope Sheriff Joe is there to stay.

I would like to see Joe as the Chief law enforcement officer in the Nation, maybe we'd see some real action instead of the racist BS coming from the Obama cabal.

You're right about Wilcox, she is liberal. I am latino and can't stand the women, and she is corrupt. I don't dissagree with investigating the board because I beleive the Court tower being built was a bunch of crap. We laid off county employees, and yet we are building a monstrosity monument to Mundell, who was a presiding judge, yet, a cronie of Mary Rose. But, the way Joe and Thomas went about investigating it was wrong.

The other ones, I don't know, they are all GOP, so it is hard to say they are liberal. I think they all gathered ranks to go against Thomas and Joe.

If Joe would not have went after his opponents the way he did, we would not be having this conversation. He started pissing off people when he arrested protesters at the board meetings.

It is not only caucasians that like Joe. I have family members that want him as prez. Before he started the immigration stuff, he had a lot more latinos backing him.

Two things...

1-According to your article it isnt Arapaio that is accused and that Arapoaios spokesmen stated they began an investagtion as soon as the allegations came to light, and

2-Yes...the fed is investigating to see if they are profiling. They have been investigating for three years. To date I dont think they have found anything. Now...heres the question...will the fed open an investigation on the INS for profiling? That IS after all how they have been investigating illegal immigration forever and has been backed by the Supreme Court. AND it is how ICE spent BILLIONS training state law enforcement on INS practices.

I suppose there IS another point to be made about this thread...

Liberals attack The Tea Party when it is democrats and republicans that have driven this country into an economic nightmare. Now people are attacking Sheriff Arpaios department...one of the few police departments in the country actually committed to fight crime.

At some point dont you HAVE to ask why they invest so much of their time trying to attack the cure and not the problem?

Tell me...WHY do Latinos have a problem with him...or the Arizona law? The law SPECIFICALLY prohibits what the federal law SPECIFICALLY allows the INS to do. They are specifically targetting illegal immigrants. Why do people ahve a problem with that?

I am not the token latino to ask that question. Everyone has their reasons why they hate it or love it. Some americans of mexican decent, like the law. I personally think that AZ had no choice but to pass the law because we are at war on the border, and for generations, both parties have ignored this fact. Do I like the law, nope. Why because it was presented by a bigot Russell Pearce, and because there is a federal law already, we don't need another law. Enforced the one we have and make the federal responsible.

Again, regarding Joe, I am not the token latino to ask. I don't like joe because he is publicity whore. He is not totally about fighting crime, he is about getting headlines. If he was about fighting crime, he'd go server the thousands of felony warrants that he has outstanding. He would establish partnerships with other law enforcement agencies. He would not stomp all over the constitution. He would go after the big time illegal human and drug smuggling cases, the ones that need to be prioritized, instead of having crime sweeps that go after petty criminals that are in the usa illegally, e.g. traffic stops for cracked windshield.

1-You do realize of course that the states have been trained by the fed to enact INS laws...and that across the country the fed has failed MISERABLY. Ive yet to find ANYONE on ANY forum to be able to reconcile the fact that INS trained THOUSANDS of state agents...that INS SPECIFICALLY targets latinos (profiling), and that the supreme court has backed INS procedures with their claim that somehow Arizona is doing something WRONG by doing precisely what the fed has refused to do.

2-If you live there Im sure you know more than I do about Maricopa county, but I have to tell you...he sure APPEARS to be arresting folks...enough so that the civil rights groups have been hounding him for years.

Arizona has a PROBLEM. Someone SHOULD be invested in solving those problems. Until I actually see anyone offer more than bitching about their proactive measures, I'll back the state and local law enforcement.
