Palin to make high-profile visit to Iowa

Are you kidding? I would love her to run. She is far too ignorant to ever make a serious run at anything beyond governor of Alaska.

It is pretty good bet that she would lose if she tried to run again for governor of Alaska.

No, she should not run. I am surprised at her competence in raising awareness of local and state government officials of similar values as her. She is one useful fundraiser and cheerleader for the Republican Party. I think this is her biggest strength. This is something the liberals have not really been able to duplicate for some time.

As far as the "lame stream media goes", it needs more balls. If I were her, I would attack the self-pitying aspect of the media...that media that is so helpless over its own fate it can only help but whine and complain about its depreciated status. It has been a common thread over the last few decades, and it is a shame that not many have used it against them.

Let's remember why she stays away from legitimate press. Those facts make her head hurt.

I thought the video would have new information. I didn't even make it one minute before it started making my head hurt...LOL

She has basically said that she doesn't care about issues or facts.

Rental car executive Andrew Halcro, who ran as an independent for Governor, said that debating Palin was an exercise in frustration. The day after a debate in Fairbanks, they found themselves in conversation at a breakfast in Anchorage.

"She said, 'You know, I go to these debates, and I'm just amazed at your grasp of issues and facts. You show up with no notecards; you just kind of spurt it out. But I look out over the audience, and I wonder: Is that really important?'

Even those in the business and are used to politician talk, shake their head in amazement at her incompetence.

BLITZER:Right now a big issue, should the U.S. government, the federal government bail out the Detroit — the big three automakers?

PALIN:[Four paragraphs of gibberish]

BLITZER: So, sorry, I’m still waiting for the answer, should the government bail out the big three automakers?

Charles Gibson said in reaction to one of her answers, “I sort of got lost in a blizzard of words there”.

I guess she comes from the 'ol school of 'If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with BS'. From the looks around here, some folks just loves the BS.

That theory goes down the toilet the minute you say 'Bush'.

I'd take Bush over what we have today... theory holds fine. Haven't seen this picture yet have you?

It breaks down when you mention "Obama", the Harvard professor who took 8 years of Bush and magnified it x4. Back to the topic... education and money may be overrated for governement elections. Perhaps we need more Mr. Smith goes to Washington types.

Didn't Bush go to an Ivy League school?

There is something high profile in Iowa?

Clinton is very politically intelligent. Whether you agreed with her or not is immaterial. She could carry on an intelligent political conversation/debate with anyone, at anytime. That's mainly because she is truly interested and passionate about the whole business of politics, how things relate and interact. It's not a circus arena to her.

Condi Rice is a very intelligent woman, but she didn't come across to me as having the passion for politics as does Clinton. It seemed to me as though it was merely a job to her and that's how she approached it.

Should she run, she's proven she can handle the heat, and she has scared the living crap out of the Journolists.
.

She resigned before her term was up, I hardly call that "handling the heat". And as for scaring journalists, please, she couldn't even answer the basics of questions from them and they showed how much of a fool she is.

From the looks around here, some folks just loves the BS.

yup, all the way from alaska to florida, with every state, city and commonwealth in between

her particular expression of the american sentiment stands alone in capturing even an ounce of the enthusiasm of the national electorate

and tea today is served PIPING HOT!

go figure

the clintons are ruthlessly ambitious, one would have to be as blind to character as the weirdo in the white house not to recognize

Wrong...

1 Palin wasn't popular with the RINOs. She was immensely popular with conservatives.

2 McCain lost the conservatives because he was too close to the Democrats. The great successes have come when the Republicans have offered a clear distinction from the Democrats

Pretty sure McCain lost because he didn't get enough independent voters or women... He didn't really get the majority of any voter category expect white males and I think senior citizens.

Thats a common occurance in all states, not something I consider to be high profile.

the IOWA CAUCUS!

LOL!

you don't know what GOING TO IOWA (and/or NEW HAMPSHIRE means)?!

forgive me, but that's simply amazing...

We aren't anywhere near a presidential election.

Again, it mean something a year from now, we are nowhere near a presidential election, so, at the moment, there is nothing significant going on there.

She handled Biden, and Obama now has a record he can't weasel from as he did in 08. Obama has a record of mass economic destruction, incompetence and hostility to America.

.

One thing in favor of sanity is that only 25 percent Palin supporters are knee jerk reactionaries, or as Ed says, psychos...

ricksfolly

then why is everyone talking about it, silly?

Is Palin's Rise Part of God's Plan? | Politics | Vanity Fair
~snip
Sarah Palin has often suggested that she believes her rise to power is divinely ordained. She is, moreover, the only contemporary American politician whose admirers openly describe her as a modern-day version of a biblical character.

On the main pro-Palin blog, Conservatives4Palin, many postings contemplate Palin’s resemblance to Queen Esther, the eponymous hero of a short book in the Hebrew Bible. And Palin herself encourages the analogy. This past April, for instance, she told a Christian group in Louisville, Kentucky, that she often reads the book of Esther to her daughter Piper at bedtime.

Palin seems first to have gotten the idea that she might be a new Esther shortly after being elected governor in 2006, when she asked one of her former pastors for an example of biblical leadership that she could emulate. Quoting scripture, the pastor told Palin that she, like Esther, had “come to the Kingdom for such a time as this.”

Plus: “Sarah Palin: The Sound and the Fury,” by Michael Joseph Gross;, Gross’s response to critics of the article; and “Sarah Palin’s Shopping Spree: Yes, There’s More. . . .”
The reference requires some unpacking. Due to her extraordinary beauty, Esther, a Jew, was taken as a wife by the Persian king Ahasuerus. When an adviser named Haman persuaded Ahasuerus to proclaim that all Jews in his kingdom should be killed, Esther’s Jewish cousin Mordecai (who raised her after she was orphaned) told her that she had to persuade the King to spare her people: “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)

A 2008 e-mail obtained exclusively by Vanity Fair, which appears in full below (with its original spelling and punctuation), offers the clearest evidence yet made public of how seriously Palin and her advisers take this analogy. The e-mail was written by Lou Engle, a right-wing pastor and political activist who founded a movement known as the Call, which has coordinated widespread prayer and fasting to protest health-care reform and same-sex marriage. Of the latter, he has said, “What happened to California will release a spirit that is more demonic than Islam, a spirit of lawlessness and anarchy. And a sexual insanity will be unleashed into the Earth.” Engle’s e-mail was sent to Palin as a last-minute exhortation just before she took the stage for her vice-presidential debate against Joseph Biden on October 2, 2008. It is an extraordinary document, referring to legalized abortions as a “holocaust,” and casting Engle in the role of Mordecai to Palin’s Esther. The message was handled by Palin’s advisers with a gravity (subject line: “URGENT Fwd: From Lou Engle – Urgent for Sarah to read...”) that suggests it was a message they knew Palin would want to see.

What's the source for this?

When was the last time you ran for anything? Have ever been Governor of a state and then go on to run on a Presidential ticket? No?...I see

I fail to see what this has to do with anything. But you can believe that "defending this country" means more than sitting in Alaska squaring off with an imaginary Soviet threat over the last few years. Face it, she's the dumbest politician on earth and McCain threw the Presidency away on an unwise gamble. And quitting before her term was up wasn;t only an insult to her dimwitted voters, but very telling of her committment to office. Tell you what...if you like any of these individuals...

- Pelosie
- Clinton
- O'Donnell
- Palin

....then your're a dip**** and may as well vote because they have a pretty dress on.
