That's the slippery slope free speech rides upon. If free speech is restricted too much, it results in censorship and tyranny. But if it isn't restricted at all it can result in anarchy, a return to the state of nature, and a life that Hobbes described in Leviathan as “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.” Finding a happy medium on the slippery slope is always going to be tricky.You're totally missing the point, dude. If the government can fire a civil service employee, for excercising his right to free speech, today; then the government can throw someone in jail for the same offense, tomorrow.
