O'Donnell wins Delaware

as of now that appears to be correct but I just watched a bunch of pollsters who said its not a sure bet for dems

This is great news for the Democrats.

We'll just wait and see come Nov. At least now they'll have a real choice, conservative or liberal, not liberal and liberal-lite.

Wait until you repubs find that mood of the country isn't anti-democrat but anti-incumbent.

Independents will decide it and they are not happy with democrats

If that is the case, then we still win. The Dem's hold all three houses, so in an open type seat...

Edge, US.

Republicans have just been sent another message. I wonder how lonl before they learn that the days RINOs are numbered.

This is another step toward Restoration of our Nation. I believe the Founding Fathers would be pleased but cautious not to get too cocky. Yet.

All the GOP needs to do is go back to their conservative roots

Of course it's not a sure bet, but I heard that the Republicans would not support her.

Christine O'Donnell's Views On Sex And Porn Take Social Conservatism To The Extreme | TPMDC

The republicans will support her. But their chances to win this seat have gone down dramatically. It seems that the best ( and perhaps only) effective weapon the democrats have is the tea party.

This country is to big for any party to rely on purists. Especially when the term chances from cycle to cycle.

Man....I was happy to see this. The seat probably would have stayed Democrat anyway....but this seals it. I LOVE how the Tea Party is destroying the GOP. Keep electing these far-right fringe candidates GOP supporters....us Democrats are loving it!

Independents will decide it and they are not happy with democrats

But Independents aren't going to vote for the right-wing whackjobs......That is what I hope that the GOP doesn't realize!

You may be wrong. They will vote for those that will stand on the constitution. That is the teaparty not democrats

I think she can win. The enthusiasm is there that's for sure. We just need to get behind her.
Maddow (MSNBC) is trying to make her look like some pure religious fanatic with a tape from 14 yrs ago. O'Donnell is advocating abstinance, even abstinance from masturbation for young and unmarried people. I know it sounds ridiculous in this day and age, but the tape just makes her look like a wholesome girl nextdoor type with very high morals.. Nothing sinister or nutty. I hope Maddow plays it a lot up until Nov. In my opinion it might make O'Donnell look even better to conservatives and Maddow look bad for making fun of her.

I don't think dems are as confident about beating her as they are letting on. On the cable channels a lot of them are just scratching their heads wondering what all this means. They can't believe Rep. would throw away a near sure win (Castle) to vote for her.
LOL, The Rep, didn't get her elected, the PEOPLE did.

That's funny. I though most Independents were Independents because they are not happy with EITHER party.

At least that's why I'm an Independent. And don't count your chickens before they hatch. I'm more unhappy with the part of "no, and let's screw this president every chance we get -- so we have a republican in the Whitehouse next time -- the country be damned."

Their fiscially conservative roots, specifically - I could do without some aspects of social conservativism.

Until the GOP purges their party of the evangelical big government social conservative agenda...they will remain a minority party.

Yeesh. Talk about hoisted on your own pitard.

It's just so illogical it's staggering. If the GOP wins 9 and not the 10 Senate seats they need for a majority now, O'Donnell voters will be to blame. They voted for a losing candidate, knowing she would lose, over someone who would almost certainly win, because the latter was a moderate and as we all know those are just lefties in disguise.

I had thought that the whole Scott Brown thing had proven that conservative activists were willing to work with moderates where they needed to... guess I was wrong.

Why is conservative vs liberal the only choice that qualifies as a "real choice"? Why is liberal vs moderate, or moderate vs conservative, not "real choices"? Why is moderate automatically "liberal-lite"?

This whole post makes no sense.

So social conservatives and evangelical Christians should have no representation in government?

If an Evangelical Christian gets elected....so be it. As for your question, Do I think that social conservatives should have representation in government? If I had my way, no. I think that their big government social agenda is completely contrary to everything that this country represents. If the GOP were to return to the roots of "conservatism" aka the Barry Goldwater platform, that would be a "True Conservative" platform that actually might garner some respect.
