We know deep down Dems are frightened.

Remember Dead Kennedy. If his seat can swing, any seat can swing as Obi has larded on even more incompetence and irritation since his DK's leaving the Senate.

Just remember, in a democracy we all get the government we deserve.

Good thing we don't live in a Democracy isn't it?
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

Well if the Democrats run a race like Martha Coakley did in MA, they could well lose it. Hopefully, they have learned their lesson and don't assume they have it won.

Argueing difintion doesn't mean anything, you know what he meant. The representatives are the people who their voters deserve.

If I was a Delaware voter I would vote for her now that I've seen her little video. I need to be saved from masturbation!

I always correct that mistake. Too many people think we live in a Democracy.

    Re: O'Donnell wins Delaware

Would I like to see the Republicans take back the Senate and/or House this year? Absolutely.

But to me I'm not so short sighted. This is a long term thing for me, and that's why I'm happy with this. In the LONG term its important for the Republicans, and this country, to get back to traditional consevative values. Not just lip service to them during election times, not just when they're popular, but as a good solid foundation. And its going to take incidents like this and in the little district in NY last year where the establishment is bucked and taken down a peg by the will of the conservative people of this country.

Will it result in a landslide of wins right off? Maybe not, but I don't really care about that as long as despite the losses the resolve of the conservative movement stays on. The more the GOP see's that by god their base wants REAL conservatives and they either need to support those people or realize they're going to keep losing, the better things will go. Once the GOP as a national body accepts this, embraces it, and actually moves forward with it then the chance for change happens.

These are the first shots of a long war for the soul of the Republican Party and the idea of conservatism.

This is plain and simple politics. When AMericans vote for a president we typically get a person that just shy of half the people dont want. Over half of the conservative voters in the state of delaware would rather their big spending big government politicians be democrats so they nominated the Tea Party candidate. If she wins, they get what they wanted. If she loses, they still get what they wanted.

The Republican party has been served notice...you dont get to play party politics without consequences. People have been leaving the party because of their fiscal irresponsibility since the middle of Bush's presidency. Party politics have put us in massive debt. Anyone on either side of the aisle (or ideology) that is gleeful about partisan party politics is an idiot.

Like I said, its a meaningless debate because everyone understands how the system works to the degree that we know its not a direct democracy. Heck I could even argue that the United States is in fact a democracy, a representative democracy, I won't but cut the snobbery.
