Thanks exposing that bit of ridiculous for what it is. I didn't see it as that particular Regressive has been on my ignore list, basically since my first day here.

Great. Wanna flesh those out somewhat? Platitudes and broad generalities are easy to throw out. How SPECIFICALLY do you arrive at them?

Yes... the list reads like a DNC talking points leaflet.

When liberals are willing to actually have a discussion about cutting entitlements, we'll know they're finally serious about addressing the deficits.

Until then, it's all lip service to a cause they see as nothing more than a means to a political end.

    1) First, we will end up defaulting on our debt. There is no way to prevent this. We do NOT have the resources to be able to ever pay back our debt. Our crisis is going to become the world's crisis, but those who will suffer most, economically, will be the banksters, whose only wealth is on nothing but paper, which was created from all this debt, and not much else.
Given the United States's economic position, we probably don't really need to pay back all of our debt in the foreseeable future. Just keep it in the realm of 5-8 trillion at any one time.

If you notice something good in yourself, give credit to God, not to yourself, but be certain the evil you commit is always your own and yours to acknowledge.

545 people are responsible for every piece of legislation that governs this country . . . every tax . . . every incentive . . . You are looking at this from a partisan standpoint. I'm looking at it as the problem is systemic. I don't cheer the failure of my country. I'm as frustrated as frustrated can be. The American people have been stymied by the 545. Helllppppp!!!

Re: Doomsday warnings of US apocalypse gain ground

It all goes back to our government officials self interest over the interests of the country. Consider what would happen if our representatives took the hard road and made many of the changes that could correct our country. These changes would be difficult for most of the American public to swallow. How many of our officials have the courage to face the public and tell the truth? That the very changes that can fix America will mean that many of our lives will be affected and that most of us will have to make sacrifices to achieve correcting our problems. Do we really think that the voters are going to be happy with someone telling them that in order to fix our country that we as citizens will have to sacrifice (example) 50% of the services we receive from our government?

While people will complain until this ship sinks very little are actually willing to bail water. We want it magically fixed but without having to sacrifice anything in our lives to do so.

Only a very few of our officials (I feel) try to give us any sibilance of the truth. The rest are to worried about continuing with the status qua to insure their reelection. Until things get much much worse I do not feel we will have enough officials in office that are willing to serve selflessly and with the countries interest at heart to make the needed changes. Until then the few that are willing will be blocked by all those that are in it for themselves.
