US poverty on track to post record gain in 2009

    Original source AP.
WASHINGTON The number of people in the U.S. who are in poverty is on track for a record increase on President Barack Obama's watch, with the ranks of working-age poor approaching 1960s levels that led to the national war on poverty.

Census figures for 2009 the recession-ravaged first year of the Democrat's presidency are to be released in the coming week, and demographers expect grim findings.

It was under President Bush when the economy went south big time. There is no way you can legitimately blame the poverty level on President Obama.

Sure we can, his policies and plans, his spending and his goals have hurt the economy, kept it down and the future looks bleak BECAUSE of him. Cap and Trade, Obamacare, higher taxes, more regulations, more uncertainty, whatever problems "Bush" caused, Obama's only made far worse.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

It was under a Democrat Congress that the economy went south, big time. The addition of a larger Democrat majority and a Democrat president is causing it to go farther south, at a faster rate.

BTW, which one of Bush's policies caused the recession?

The policy that business (in this case Wall Street and the Banks are self regulating) is self regulating.

I'm sorry, but President Bush never would have let things get this bad! This president we have doesn't give a **** about people. What Obama is doing is not working, yet he keeps doubling down on failed policies. He wants us all dependent. That's the only answer I can come up with. He's not even the least bit embarassed about this or the thousands of people practically rioting a while back over applications for housing. He's an embarassment, and I'm embarassed that this great country has so many without housing and depending on food stamps etc. There's no excuse for it.
He's killed so many jobs, I don't know when we'll ever recover.

No, really, show us which policy, executive order, or congressional act that Bush created, caused the recession.

Of course he doesn't care about the American people. Look at the drilling moratorium.
