I wonder if the revenue collected has been diverted? It wouldn't be the first time a tax was collected for one purpose and used for another...

The Japanese must be miracle fairy workers who magically assembled quite the export machine in the face of even greater tax policies
It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.

I guess you never learned that the main purpose of Japanese government is to support and nurture their businesses. How many plaintiff's lawyers are there per capita in Japan? But your silly retort is not relevant to my post

So hold up here a second, Japan is not an example of laissez faire capitalism?

why are you trying to derail this thread? I am against tax policies in the USA that makes AMERICAN companies less competitive. I also oppose Obama's patently idiotic ploy to buy votes by demonizing American Corporations when in reality his schemes will be passed on in costs to american consumers

Just looking for a little consistency. Sheesh.

The wife and I both started drawing at 62, hoping to get as much of it as we can before the benefits drop, or dry up.
YOU are well employed and still paying in, right? If so, thanks for your contribution....

I don't know, at best this might create a few temporary jobs, but that needs to stop being Obama's answer, band aid job creation isn't the answer, we need long term certainty in what is a very volatile market. People are unsure what the cost of doing business is going to be, will the Bush tax cuts expire, how much is this new health care bill going to cost business's. When business faces such uncertainty going forward, they are going to be cautious about expansion. Not to mention that these trickle down bureaucratic plans just don't work, as evident by the 'stimulus' bill.
