I didn't realize it was our duty to protest what others do of their own free will and in contradiction of our religious beliefs.
Perhaps you're not an American then, Degreez. In the democracies people are expected to protest against the unjust treatment of others. This was best demonstrated during the period when American Blacks were being persecuted for the color of their skin. Good and brave people protested and changes were made. There was a saying which originated during that period I believe which said, "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem". You appear to be part of the problem.
And because these Muslims do not fulfill your obligation of protesting every action any Muslim ever commits, you lump them together with the most extreme of that group
.
Yes, I do. If you don't protest and speak out then you are a part of the problem and should be identified as such.
I don't see Christians regularly protesting what the Klu Klux Klan does.
The KKK are hardly a factor anymore but indeed there were Christians protesting against them and, most famously perhaps, Jews. It seems you aren't American. It was the left who consistently elected a former member of the KKK to government, however, and they are not always identified with Christianity.
"Does that mean I am allowed to lump those Christians with the KKK? No, that would be fallacious reasoning and devoid of logic".
As I just explained, many Christians did protest against the KKK and racism. Few Muslims ever protest against the ongoing slaughter against innocent people everywhere and instead we get feeble attempts at relativism. Or those who do protest have fatwas issued against them and require 24 hour protection.
"Yeah! In your nine months here you really got a great understanding of me! "
No, in fact its taken several years to learn about people like you. I once had a live and let live attitude as well, until I realized a significant number of Muslims didn't.
"In fact, I've participated in an Al-Maghrib Outreach Program that sent me to Ramallah to teach children about things that contradict true Islam (you know, those things you believe all Muslims actually commit)".
Right. I'm sure the acts of terrorism ceased as a result and you pointed out the importance of free thought, free will and democracy.
Well, when one is ignorant of the subject, and posts like he is ignorant of the subject, one may only assume the poster is purposely using his ignorance to debate honestly.
Point out any dishonesty in my posts and you'll get an apology.
Your understanding of Islam is most likely limited to a few hate sites who's only intent is to show Islam in a bad light.
Au contraire, I've been debating the subject for several years, beginning not long after 9/11. I spend a fair bit of time on Islamic web sites seeing what they're thinking and they're often genuine eye openers.
It's obvious you have never opened a Qur'an before or even read one in context. You'd realize that less than one percent of the Qur'an has to do with actual physical violence. But again, that is assuming you are willing to engage in an honest discussin in which ignorance does not guide your posts.
I often get Muslims sending me quotes from the Koran, just as you did, but I have little interest in what it has to say. Same with the misogynist and violent parts.
All I want is for Muslims to stop terrorism, destroying the lives of women and young girls, and their 24 hours a day bitching about one thing or another. And no matter how ignorant you might claim me to be, at least I am not a Muslim.
