Whose denying them their rights? People are just curious about many things.
Here's number 1 on my list.
Imam Rauf says the purpose of the mosque and culture center is to build bridges.
That idea is not working at this location for the time being. If he truly wants to build bridges he would come out and talk to the people who doubt his motives. He would not refuse to consider another location without explaining why it is so important to have it there.
He has right to build there, but is it the right thing to do?

So we show them how then? By being intolerant of their rights and liberties? HAHAHAHAHAHA. Get over it, this is what it means to live in a free society and you best start learning that there are real world consequences for sticking to our resolve to be free. This is one of them. People can be assholes. ****ing learn to deal with it already.

You are calling it a cultural insensitivity, but hundreds of 911 families are not only saying that this is BS, but are proclaiming that the Islamic Cultural Center will do plenty to bridge the gap between the Islamic and non-Islamic communities, and also show that the assholes who committed 911 do not speak for Islam. And, best of all, they are Americans too, just as American as you and I are.

Keep spinning your hate, if you want to, but that won't change the facts.

This project isn't about what's legal or constitutional, it's about recognizing the difference between right and wrong.

It is wrong to interfere with the free exercise of an individual's rights and liberties if said individual has not infringed upon the rights of others. It is right to understand and accept reality along with the consequences of your choices and repercussions of your actions.

And, once again, there are hundreds of 911 families who proclaim it to be right. You don't speak for them. Period.

Aren't you the least bit curious about the muslims in favor of this and the ones funding it? Is it inconceivable that they may be the "few" who hate America and want to destroy her?
I'm not saying they are, so let's prove they only have good intentions. So far I'm not seeing that.

A little off topic. Why are we using tax payer dollars to fund mosques in other countries? What happened to separation of Chuch and State that the left is always in a tizzy about when people try to pray in public schools etc.

it isn't relevant with the center either, but it doesn't stop people from bringin it up and using the same silly logic. Just watch Fox.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.
